LifeWay trustees authorize exploration of the sale of Ridgecrest

Ridgecrest is Lifeway's last icon of Baptist life. They will lose a lot of money on it this year but in recent years it has operated at a profit. What is going on? Is Lifeway so thin it can't take a big loss on Ridgecrest for one year?

I guess summer camps and regional meeting facilities are not as popular as they used to be. Not sure exactly. Maybe we can blame it on the Internet.

Ridgecrest (unlike Glorieta, which was sold because it was losing money) has consistently been making a profit and helping to keep Lifeway afloat. Why Lifeway wants to kill the goose laying the golden egg at this point is a mystery beyond belief.
