A close Christian friend of mine gave me a gift subscription to a monthly magazine called, "Tabletalk", and it is from Ligonier Ministries. R.C. Sproul is the Executive Editor.
He felt that I would enjoy it.
Is my friend trying to proselytize me in some covert way into any abherrent biblical teaching?
R.C.'s a great teacher, I really enjoyed his radio broadcast when it was available in our area (sadly I can't pick it up any more).
I subscribed to TableTalk for a year a while back.
Good articles but they do have a weakness.
They give their view of a doctrine but generally don't present the opposing sides of an argument.
My favorite issue presented their view of baptism, which of course wasn't a Baptist view.
It was well argued and presented; I still keep the issue even though I disagree.
I also lean strongly towards dispensationalism, a view that R.C. Sproul does not hold.
If you can get past some of these "weaknesses", he is a solid teacher.
Enjoy his magazine; compare and contrast it with what you have been taught and use it as a springboard for further study.
