    Curious on how I can get a copy of Linux for my laptop. Im wanting to play with it and learn how to use it. Ive heard nothing but good things about Linux. Curious as to what yall say.

    Most of the main versions have live CDs (or DVDs) you can download. These let you boot into the OS without installing it, and also contains the OS for installation.

    If you've never messed with Linux, try Knoppix first. It's pretty simple, and is first and foremost made to run off of the CD. It can be installed, but few do.

    Ubuntu and Kunbuntu are different flavors of the same version. They use different desktop enviroments (Gnome vs KDE).

    Debian is pretty well know, but not noob-friendly.
