Is there one single translation which you believe to be the best for all around use? Devotion, study, preaching, evangelism, etc?
And why?
I wait with eager anticipation your replies.
The Japanese Shinkaiyaku is best for Japan! It is conservative and a fairly good translation. :thumbs:av1611jim said:PLEASE! Do not make this a KJVO thing.

You noticed that too, I see.Keith M said:Here's one of the "usual suspects" right on cue!
Well, your question is somewhat akin to asking, "Is there one food that is best for all meals- breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks, and why?"av1611jim said:Golly guys. I asked if you thought there was one Bible which was best for all around use.(or something like that.)
A couple of you had the backbone to tell me that IYO you did not think so.'
The rest of you only told me what you use which has nothing to do with the question.
Thanks to those of you who had the integrity to answer the question directly.

It is interesting to me that one can ask such a simple question yet get a dozen not so simple answers.

Bro. Williams said:Jim, I wouldn't use a Bible if I didn't think it was best for all around use. THat is why I use only one. Therefore I did answer your question.
So even if a person uses the KJV and answers a simple question concerning what Bible he uses, he is then "guilty" of something (in reference to use of "usual suspects). Can a person not use the KJV anymore without criticism?
