You can click on it to see it bigger. I snapped the pic yesterday in the front yard.

What is it?! From what I looked up, it seems like a type of sandpiper, but I can't find any type of sandpiper that doesn't have a white belly.

WHAT IS IN MY YARD?! LOL

    It's a-drivin-me-crazeh!

Looks like a young wren to me. It's definitely not a sandpiper.

That doesn't not look like the sand pipers we get here at all. But I also don't have a clue as it could be.

I've never been near OK but it looks like a Rail to me, a type of swamp bird.

Deacon, I think you're exactly right! I looked up rails and found that one called the Water Rail looks EXACTLY like this one did. I took about 20 photos, some of it still, from the side, from the top, etc., and that's a complete match.
It's a pretty thing. What caught my attention first was that long beak and the unusual color of it. At least for me. I've never seen one of those before!

The rail pic from Deacon still fits better. That one's tail is too long and the feet/beak the wrong color, although the shape and color look pretty similar!

I put an even bigger photo up there on the same place, same post so you could see.

The rail definitely makes sense and looks just like it. So you have your answer! It's a rail! I've never heard of them!

I've never heard of a Water Rail or a Red Knot--LOL! It is a pretty bird, Gina. Maybe you will see him again. :)

Beat me to it...I just found the rail, was excited...and realized the work had already been done!

My first thought was a lesser woodcock...but I coudn't get the exact coloration right.

    Yep. Rail.
