Lord-Jesus-Christ

A great deal of confusion regarding the person of Christ can be removed when one notices the use of the three names in His full title.

Lord- Is meant to place emphasis on Him as Jehovah God. (IE pre-incarnate)
Jesus- Is meant to place emphasis on Him in His humanity. (IE incarnate)
Christ- Is meant to place emphasis on Him the ascended Saviour. (IE post- incarnate)

Note: The use of a particular term is only referring to a certain emphasis intended to be made through the verse it is used in. It is not meant to deny any other of His attributes.

1. The Lord -- Jesus says in John 8 that HE is the "I AM" the YHWH of the OT scriptures.
2. Christ -- is greek for Messiah - the annointed one promised in Dan 9 and the 490 year messianic prophecy predicting the ministry and timing of the Messiah.

in Christ,

Bob
