...MacArthur.

Southern Baptist 'Founders' personality Timothy George notes that:

[MacArthur's] first anti-charismatic book was an exposition of 1 Corinthians 12-14, and the views he held on spiritual gifts back then are the same as those he espouses today. But in his first book, MacArthur was willing to allow that

“charismatics truly love Jesus and the Scriptures. . . . I thank God for much that is happening in the charismatic movement. The Gospel is being proclaimed and many people are being saved
. I also believe that through this movement some Christians are recognizing a certain new reality in Christ and making commitments that they have never made before.”

What this debate needs is a fresh dose of the early MacArthur.

There's no doubt in my mind that ...

1) Johnny M used to be a great Bible expositor

2) Satan is the god/ruler of this world/age, who chooses to attack the most influential BACs

3) Johnny M has effectively been put off the rails ... and is heading down a cliff

Sorry to have to say: Satan and man's free-will are sharing the Kingship together!
God will NOT override their free wills, which He purposely has given to them.

Welcome to the real world of Christianity.

...MacArthur.

Southern Baptist 'Founders' personality Timothy George notes that:

And a dash of John Wesley wouldn't hurt: "By reflecting on an odd book which I read in this journey, "The General Delusion of Christians with regard to Prophecy," I was fully convinced of what I had long suspected,...That the grand reason why the miraculous gifts were so soon withdrawn, was not only that faith and holiness were well nigh lost; but that dry, formal, orthodox men began even then to ridicule whatever gifts they had not themselves, and to decry them all as either madness or imposture. This is all just bloody common sense (which I have been warning about) ...

Church leaders without the Spirit baptism (and any of the 9 spiritual power gifts)
were jealous of anyone having them, and wanting to keep their prestige and power,
put the big kabosh-ola on the precious things given by the Lord to His REAL church.

Satan and man's free will have always been King!
The LORD God will never override man's free will.

Seems that paul would disagree with you, as would Jonah!

We ALL have the SAME "Baptism in the Holy spirit, so there would be NO deficiet in Dr McArthur or me...

And the power of the Spirit in our lives is seen in effective living and testimony, in enduring grace, in power to avod and overcome sins and temptations, NOT in all those spiritual gifts....

shame that the one gift you lack is spiritual discernment, for if you had that from the Lord, would forsake your own theology and see the truth and be set free!

Old Johnny boy continues his lonely walk in the dry desert places,
i.e. he has big ears for Satan's lies and deceptions ...

he is doing quite well actually, as he is heeding the illumination of the Spirit in the Bible to himself, and he is in a gtreat list of those whom you would see as being either false or deficiet teachers, such as calvin, Spurgeon, Edwards, Stott, Packer, bruce, et all, as none of them claimed your 'baptism!"
