Major General says president's eligibility needs proof

On the heels of two active duty members of the U.S. military serving in Iraq calling for President Obama to prove his eligibility to be president, a retired major general has agreed to join the case, saying he just wants "the truth."

WND reported earlier when 1st Lt. Scott Easterling confirmed to California attorney Orly Taitz that he wanted to be a plaintiff in the legal action she is preparing on behalf of members of the U.S. military, both active and retired. A second soldier who asked that his name be withheld for now became part of the action just a day later.

Good grief! I don't even like the man, but is this the best we can do to try to get him out of office?!?

I think I am going to have to pass on responding to these type of articles any more.. they are just getting more and more silly.

My pride want me not to 'give in' but I with you Jamie. The truth will come out and this story will go the way of the oath on the Koran one.

I am done - have at it.

It is really ignorant to keep bringing this one up. His mother was a natural born US citizen, he was born in Hawaii and there is a birth certificate to prove it. Even if there was no birth certificate he would be a citizen because his mother was.

Drop the drivel and stop you inane statements stemming from your hatred and prejudice.

Have a blessed day.

Your statement only shows your reactionary emotions based on nothing but opposition to your view. Your false accusation of hatred and prejudice are without any doubt not reasonable.

And I would like to know just what kind of prejudice are you falsely accusing me of?

There is nothing false about it. You many predudicial satements on Obama and others only confirm your bias. If you do not realize your prejudices I suggest you begin a journal and take an inward journey into your own self and discover what is there. Your continued keeping alive old lies and always posting only negatives screams out of your prejudice.

Try reading Elizabeth O'Connor's "Journery Inward, Journey Outward." Also her "Our Many Selves."

You might even try J.B. Pillips "You God Is Too Small."

Please stop with the personal attacks. I will not fall into the trap of closing a thread you dislike, CTB, but will just delete them from now on. If you have nothing to add to the discussion, bow out of this thread. Thanks.

OK, let's talk legality then. Obama's mother was a natural born US citizen. Obama was born in Hawaii. There is a birth certificate to show he was born there. Thus, to continue saying that he may not be legally a citizen is not reasonable under any circumstances. That which has been shown to be false in the past should not continually be re-introduced in new threads to keep the falsehood alive.

Do you agree?

No, I don't. That is the crux of the discussion and apparently you do not understand what the uproar is about - the Obama camp/DNC has not produced an ORIGINAL BC (only a digital copy that has photoshop earmarks according to some) from Hawaii with the embossed seal. So, it has NOT been shown to be false or a falsehood, only in the minds of Obama supporters who wish the issue would go away. Production of the original BC for outside forensic examination would put the matter to rest as far as whether or not he was born in Hawaii. And that matter would have been put to rest a long time ago. The dual citizenship is another matter.

But I posted a link to it, on the Interrnet from Hawaii before the election. It isn't that hard to find.

Also, it does not matter about the birth certificate. His mother was a US citizen, thus by law he was and is a US citizen. In fact, under the law at that time, even if both his parents had been non-US citizens he would have been a citizey simply because he was born in Hawaii, unless it can be proven that Hawaii was not part of the US at that time. Again, read carefully, the birth certificate is not, is not the deciding factor.

In fact, I worked with a man who not only does not have a birth certificate, but cannot prove he was born. No records have been found in any local churches, in family Bibles, and even his relatives cannot agree on when he was born. The US gov. certainly considers him a citizen, and, as I said, he can not prove with paper that he was born. According to he and his relatives he was born at home in the mountains of SW Virginia.

It is simply silly, or unethical politics that drives this about Obama.

Well, then consider us silly. You are entitled to your opinion just as we are entitled to ours.

This guy is a private citizen now. My opinion as a citizen and voter is worth as much as his is. Obviously he has an extreme right wig position to further.

I hope in America legal issues are still resolved by the courts and not the military.

It has been examined by people outside the Obama campaign. It has also been confirmed by the director of Hawaii’s Department of Health.

Show me some real proof he is not a citizen and I will side with you. But until you can show real proof please do not continue such a rumor. And please don't just quote other right wing opinions. Show me real proof. For instance, explain to me how he cannot be a US citizen considering that his mother was a US citizen.

Thanks.

Have a blessed day.

This issue could be put to rest by the release of the appropriate documents. The central question is: Why the reluctance on the part of the democrats and O'bama to remove all doubt?

They've released a copy of it. How are they supposed to release it except to give people images of it? They've had a third party come on site and look at it. The director of the Health Department in Hawaii confirms the authenticity of the document. So does the registrar of vital statistics. Are both these officials in Hawaii lying?

You all keep asking for "official" proof. Why do you continue to dismiss the official proof from the officials in Hawaii?!

Are birth certificates public record? Even if they arent, couldnt someone with the authority to do so get a copy of it through the Freedom of Information Act since our National Security and constitutional law are at stake?

Do the officials in Hawaii have ties to Obama as well? Why are you ignoring government officials in Hawaii?

I think that when a person holds the office of president, that he should prove that he is eligible for office and he should provide proof of that. Noone should have to prove he isnt eligible,,,,,,he should prove he is.

The DMV wont let me get an ID with a photo copy of my b/c, then why should we accept that as proof to be eligible to be President?
