Census confirms: 63 percent of ‘non-citizens’ on welfare, 4.6 million households

A majority of “non-citizens,” including those with legal green card rights, are tapping into welfare programs set up to help poor and ailing Americans, a Census Bureau finding that bolsters President Trump’s concern about immigrants costing the nation.

In a new analysis of the latest numbers, from 2014, 63 percent of non-citizens are using a welfare program, and it grows to 70 percent for those here 10 years or more, confirming another concern that once immigrants tap into welfare, they don’t get off it.

Yep. Old people can come here and immediately get a Social Security pension despite not ever having worked a day of their life in America. Disabled people can come here and immediately get on SSDI with no problem at all.

Liberals have turned the idea of bringing people here who will only be a benefit to America to being a drain on the nation from day one. No wonder we are over 20 trillion in debt with no end in sight.

That's why a majority of non citizens are here.

The invaders in Tijuana wanted to come here because we have big welfare with no questions asked. Does anyone think that the RCC believes that if you don't work, you don't eat?

While there is compassion for many legally naturalized citizens, those birth citizens who can't work because of age like myself and have paid into the system with both FICA (Oldspeak) payments and Federal State and local Income tax payments (This does not include taxes paid for personal property tax, OTC sales, etc, etc, etc...) ALL of our WORKING-INCOME lives is a different case.

My SSI and veteran allowances are NOT ENTITLEMENTS but a Return On Investment (ROI).

Personally I am not offended by America's GIFTS to the legally admitted naturalized citizens considered WORTHY of said ENTITLEMENTS.

I dont begrudge those new, legal immigrants who are needy and share in our contributions and free will (sorry calvinists) charitable gifts.
Participate to your potential in the American dream of freedom and affluence and the pursuit of happiness.

To the others - Come - but come in a way that shows you want to be a law abiding American citizen.

Yeah, but we should have closed the border back in the Reagan years so that we don't have so much labor that we can't use. Secondly, they say that employers force hard labor on immigrants and after a couple of decades they are broken physically and so having been paid under the table, they are dumped out on welfare. So the rich get richer. I think that Eisenhower was the last president to shut down the border to protect American jobs.

Well, I do begrudge immigrants that jump on welfare programs and stay on them for a lifetime - how is this not subsidizing the Third World, legal or not, they send billions of dollars out of the country forever. That does not help the American economy at all.

Entry ENTITLEMENTS would be treated as TEMPORARY (Five years) with possible job assignments or entry refusal or deportation.

already too many legal immigrants here already, but that;s by far better than the system we have now. Too many loopholes with chain migration and anchor babies, they'd be able to collect welfare forever like they do now. These jobs could be assigned to Americans as well. Cheap labor that vote Democratic is a huge temptation to both parties.

Do we all agree that the border should be shut for a few years until we get the national debt paid off?
It's not necessary, since we have no gold and silver reserves, we can just print 20 trillion worth of greenbacks and pay ourselves.

In fact we can make it just one 20 trillion dollar note - with Bernie on the front.
