Man claims Germans tested crude atomic bomb during WWII

    I don't believe it. Our scientists examined his labs and his reactors and found that he was actually further from the bomb than our intelligence had led us to believe.

    It is possible he tried to set off some kind of crude bomb that would have scattered fissionable material, but it would not have killed a lot of people. They would have died very slowly from things like cancer long after the war. The explosive in an atomic bomb is not enough to cause damage to more than just a few people that are very close to the bomb.

    Its a story I cannot buy. IMHO
