Has anyone ever used the Sharpie Fluorescent marker when marking in your Bible? They say it will not bleed thru Bible paper. I know that the dry crayon type doesn't bleed but it doesn't stand out as bold as the wet markers. Any suggestions?

I bought a whole set of different colored highlighters at the Bible store and totally marked one of my new Bibles up without any problems of bleed-through. I don't use that Bible much anymore though, cause it's all marked up. :BangHead:

The truth is, every few years, you should have your bible marked up so much that you should change anyway.

Christian bookstores have sold highlighters that are not markers, but more like a "pencil" type material that doesn't bleed through. But it does tend to fade. So you could try one of those or get a Bible that doesn't have the real thin pages, but was designed for notes.

I tend not to highlight, but underline and star things, as well as correct not a few chapter headings. lol

I never have been one to mark up my Bible. It's all good, how about just letting the Words mark it up. When I change Bibles is when the binding becomes loose and the edges become dogeared. My notes are kept in pads. Hopefully someday, if it be the Lord's will, my 8 year old grandson can have a vast supply of notes and sermons from my pads to enjoy.

Mine are all marked up, except a couple... I use those to preach from.

I star my stuff, and write in the margins... I have always liked wide margins....

Recently, I bought 3 loose leaf bibles off ebay... all for less than $1.50 a peice. They are NIV... and I have extra inserts to put between the pages to write on.. They are the size of a regular organizer... just do a search on ebay if you are interested... "loose leaf Bible"

Doesn't that "add to the Word of God"?

Salvation is not free. It comes with a price.

Both. I am happy to carry my cross, but in order to carry the cross, I must sacrifice.

    My time
    My money
    My ability.

Yes, it is both a price, and a joy.

I'm sorry you look at it that way. When a price is required something has to be given to obtain. When I was saved I surrendered my heart and life over to God and that was it. Hopefully the price you feel you pay was not for your salvation.

Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Ahhh, but there is a price. One must be willing to give up drunkenness, fornication, stealing, idolatry, coveting, and other works of the flesh. If they don't, the Word of God declares they will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

There is a price we must pay. We must deny the flesh.
