The work MLK did is pathetic. As a direct result of "civil rights" we have a plethora of special interest groups playing the 'rights' card to dictate special treatment just becuase they happen to be different than the majority.

Where is the "White Man History" month?
Where is the "Straight Heterosexual Pride" parades?
Where is....well you get the idea.

White heterosexual males are constantly portrayed as the evil boogie man whenever some group want speacial treatment. How come we don't celebrate India's Independence from Britain? But we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Utter folly.

MLK did more to destroy what the founding fathers of this country strove to establish than any one person ever has before or since.

I'll not 'celebrate' nor observe any kind of honour for the man.

Go on and call me bigotted. Call me whatever you want. It demonstrates that you are clearly a dupe of the mindset I am talking about. And save your condescending "I feel sorry for you" baloney.

What has MLK REALLY done? The black man is less free today than he has ever been in this nation but it is not because of the oppression (so-called) of the white man. It is because the black communities of this nation will not rise up and put a stop to the violence they are wreaking upon themselves in every major city. Blacks kill more blacks in this nation than EVER happened prior to 1950-1970 by bigotted whites. And the same is true of the Mexican communities. And the Asian communities. They are killing each other yet the blame is put on the white man. Why?

It is because of the subversive MLK.

i bet your a hit at the klan meetings!

Since I am a Scot you should have spelled that CLAN and you would be accurate.

But....there ya go.

Spooks in sheets are as much of a problem as the others I mentioned.

And your MOTIVE for your snide comment is..........?

spook is an ignorant racist way of saying african american...

I am going to give him the benifit of the doubt.

Since he said they were under sheets and the subject was the KKK

It is apparent that SOMEBODY on this thread cannot follow a discussion nor read with comprehension.

I think the context clarifies the meaning here.

Yes, the term "spook" can be used as a racial term.

But, in this context, he is referring to KKK (presumably white) members.

The problem of understanding obviously comes with the term "others." Sure, grammatically, this could be used to apply the term "spook" to those persons mentioned earlier, but I think the context indicates that Jim indicated "others" to mean "other people/persons" and not "other spooks."

yep...we all know that the holiday is about him being a good preacher.

I am not racist, God sent his Son to die for all colors! I am however mind boggled how people claim to desire equal rights when they are actually fighting for more rights that the other races, gender or sexual persuasion.

Do you have any clue what went on in the 1960's and before to people of color?

MLK jr was a fornicating , whore monger who wasn't even saved!

So, do you have final authority on who is saved? You really, really don't want that job. It ain't yours anyway.

I am not racist...

Maybe not...but if you desire to abstain from appearances of evil, you might want to watch your overgeneralizations,("Why is it that colored folk who are political activists are labeled as Rev.? "), because you sound like one when you do.

Don't think I hate the man because he is black...

So why do you hate him, then?

So sorry, what is the politically correct term this month?

I just wonder...what would you wish to call "them?"

If I was to start a white heritage day or month I would be labeled as a bigot.

If you're not more careful with your posts, you might not even have to start a special day to gain that moniker.
God sent his Son to die for all colors!

Maybe the only statement of yours that didn't bother me.

This is a really disgusting thread !!!
Quit it, ya'll !!!
I don't care about MLK, jr or anyone else.
The only life worthy of celebrating is Jesus' life, and we're the ones supposed to be doing the celebrating.
No wonder people like The Punk call his parents' religion hypocrisy.
Look at the way we who are supposedly "saved" talk to each other. About a dead man.

I apologize to one and all for getting personal. I really tried to keep my comments objective and about MLK and the harm IMO he did to this nation.
Then my flesh got in the way when I was attacked. Sorry guys. Carry on w/o me.

Really? I think the key to Dr. Kings accomplishment was non-violence. Can't really say the same for Bush, besides he overthrew a dictator. I hardly call the people of Iraq free, at least not at this point.

What people did Bush free? I don't call a never ending civil war freedom.

Not that it falls under the non-violence clause, but has everybody already forgotten about Afghanistan? You know, the whole Taliban thing that hijacked an entire country, and Bush shut them down?

Yep, because you know it's all because of MLK that Mexicans kill each other... especially when it happens at an even higher rate south of the border in Mexico in certain lawless towns where the powerful drug dealers and warlords rule. Yeah, and you know that whole Darfur thing over in Africa, which is the highest rate of killing in the world right now? Well, that's a whole bunch of black people, so it's all MLK's fault too.

thanks for your apology, jim...

Remember...in MLK's day, quite a few blacks disagreed with his methodology...they didn't think non-violence would work.

Also...I don't remember MLK encouraging young black men to father children without marrying the mom, and then leave the scene. The disintegration of the african-american family is the root cause of so much black-on-black crime, IMO. Very few dads are around...fewer still are married to mom.

The US as a whole is experiencing this...this particular demographic has just had a "head start" on the rest of us...

Your thoughts.

Couldn't care less. If black people want to have a day to honor him, that's fine with me. They're certainly entitled.

I can't for the life of me imagine why it's a legal holiday, though.
