Does anyone who is familiar with Maundy Thursday, the day during Holy Week which commemorates the washing of the feet and last supper of the Messiah with the apostles, know what part of Thursday that that took place - during the night time at the beginning of Thursday, or during the daytime toward the end of Thursday?
There are, as I understand it, various views on which day of the week the Saviour died, and consequently, that would affect the day on which He washed the feet of His disciples. Some say He was crucified on a Wednesday or Thursaday. But you asked about the time of day. The bible just tells us that it was "after supper":
“And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.” (Joh 13:2-5 NKJV)
