Republican presidential candidate John McCain warned a group of sheriffs Tuesday that a Supreme Court shaped by rival Barack Obama could hurt law enforcement.

The Arizona senator reminded the National Sheriffs' Association that the next president will nominate hundreds of federal judges and that these personnel decisions “will have far-reaching consequences for all Americans, and perhaps especially for law enforcement."

Indeed. Turning border cutthroats loose because (they claim) they didn't understand their rights read to them in English is a threat to a free people.

Totally agree; that's one of the strongest reasons for the 2nd!

And just think - in a true police state, you would hear that dreaded knock on your door at 3:am and disappear forever for a post like this. (Sorta like Elian!)

There is absolutely no doubt about the accuracy of McCain's assessment.
