Had Toni Vernelli gone ahead with her pregnancy ten years ago, she would know at first hand what it is like to cradle her own baby, to have a pair of innocent eyes gazing up at her with unconditional love, to feel a little hand slipping into hers - and a voice calling her Mummy.

But the very thought makes her shudder with horror. Because when Toni terminated her pregnancy, she did so in the firm belief she was helping to save the planet.

"I didn't like having a termination, but it would have been immoral to give birth to a child that I felt strongly would only be a burden to the world."

I hope that baby wasn't the person who would find the cure for Parkinson's or cancer. But then again, what a burden on the world that would be to have all those people NOT die and further burden the earth.

    So sad.

"Incredibly, so determined was she that the terrible "mistake" of pregnancy should never happen again, that she begged the doctor who performed the abortion to sterilise her at the same time.

He refused, but Toni - who works for an environmental charity - "relentlessly hunted down a doctor who would perform the irreversible surgery.

Finally, eight years ago, Toni got her way."

Good! anyone as stupid as she is needs to remove themselves from the gene pool.

The ironic thing is the doctor who killed her baby wouldn't let her stop him from killing future babies.

She'll regret it someday, if not already, and that's going to be very sad. The blessings God gives us through children are incredible.

It goes way beyond regreting it someday. As Genesis says, the blood screams out.

Murder is murder. It was not in the heat of passion or an accident. It was premediated, 1st degree murder, on both her part and the butcher that put an end to the life.

What do you think should be the penalty?

I was going to post this. :p

Environmentalism has gone much too far. The world says Christians shouldn't preach to them, but they "preach" their absurd "doctrine" to us all the time. I'm tired of it.

Children aren't the problem. Murder isn't the answer to the world's problems.

Here's a solution to their "problem," if you don't want to have children don't have sex.

    That might be too easy.

I'm so glad I don't have to pass judgment. In the end God's JUDGMENT prevails. That gives me comfort.

    Here's a question.

If she and her boyfriend are really that concerned that even one person can seriously and negatively affect the environment, why do they continue living? It seems to me they ought to do the noble thing, in their view, and kill themselves.

I think this is more along the lines of "abortion is convenient, and telling myself it was for the environment helps me deal with what I did".
