    Why are there 2 different schools of thought on who Melchizedek was[is] in Baptists circles?My conclusion from reading Hebrews chapter 7 and Abram's response to Him in Genesis 14 is that He is Jesus Christ.

    Who he really was is not as important as who he was a type of, which is the point being made in Hebrews. All things in the Old Testament point to their ultimate fulfillment in the Lord Jesus Christ.He is our great high priest.
