Paul speaks about corrupt communication or what we might call cussing. We are not to do it. If it is considered vulgar in the culture we are to be above reproach so we do not use it. Just saw where in Sweden fart means fast. In Thailand, key meant excrement. So, the same sounds can be formed by anyone and assigned a different meaning. If we visited a culture that considered pee-pee vulgar we would need to seek out the polite term which might be urination. We should also look at the root. Some say that the f-bomb comes from Germany meaning to strike. Thus using it to describe marital bliss is to indicate that sex is an attack and some feminists teach that all sex is r*pe as it is an act of violence.
Paul also speaks to long hair on men and short hair on women. He uses eternal examples to introduce the teaching on this and even says it is how all the churches practice it so not a local or cultural thing.
He speaks to ladies attire and what is modest, not just in his time, but ours.

They had slit dresses and even what we might call mini-dresses so when Paul speaks of modest it is katastole.
Indeed, we are to have a biblical culture not caring about the world's cultural definitions.
Moses says that men and women have their attire. Yes, both wore robes, but they were different in style and length. Indeed, that command may be more about the accouterments of men that were given according to their position. Women did not wear the Urim and Thummin nor anything that would denote the role of the man versus role of the woman. A women would not be able to wear the attire of a solider, politician or any other positions that were exclusively male. We use descriptive passages in a book whose theme is "every man did that which was right in his own eyes" to declare prescriptive values that are bogus.
Pastels are clearly effeminate and by us bringing them into the male attire we have in essence affirmed gay practices. If a man wore pink in my day, he would have had a rough as well if he wore ear rings and such. The journey to androgyny started during the Civil War when some women disguised themselves as men to serve. Then came Marlene Dietrich who wore men's tuxedos because she was tired of men having all the fun. After that came Mary Garden who bobbed her hair because it was the of man's shackles. Thus the cultural shifts were anti-God, not just fashion fads. The creator of the mini-dress said she wanted to convey that she was ready for any man anytime and Christian ladies bought into the style not knowing what the style was about. It used to be if you got caught with your pants down or showed your butt it was an embarrassment. Now we have thong bikinis and even thing underwear that depending on the material of the pants or length of the dress butts are displayed everywhere. Now there is a movement to allow women to walk topless down the street. So we would have topless women in thongs in Wal-Mart though in some cities you can walk around naked, but you must carry a towel if you sit in a restaurant or a park bench. Soon public nudity will be allowed because nudists have a right to live out their lifestyle. Indeed, in the town I just left it is legal for a person to do just a thong. The requires that your genitals and rectum must be covered. The only way it would cause an arrest if if there was a public disturbance.
And now we have role reversals in marriage where the man stays home and the issue of transgenders. Because we did not stick to biblical roles and adopted some styles of the culture we are partly the blame for what we decry.
