    A friend of mine made this statement on FB:
    I've often said that there is more "preaching" in the average old hymn than what goes on in the average pulpit. (That may be why they are being replaced!)

    Do you think that Greg has a point?

    Preaching today is pretty shallow. Take a song like 'Tis Finished The Messiah Dies. There's more theology in that one hymn than in four of five average sermons you'll hear today.

    Incidentally while we don't like rap music and aren't particularly fond of CCM we've used several of Shai Linne's rap songs to help teach and catechize our children.
