Metaphors and the Bible

    Strange as it may seem, there are those on the BB who seem to believe that the word metaphor is a bad word used only to disprove or confuse the message of the Bible.

    I say this seems strange as metaphors are used throughout the Bible.

    The word metaphor is: An image which suggests similarities between two different ideas, without implying that they are identical. Scripture uses metaphors extensively, as a way of illustrating aspects of its teaching. [From www.Biblegateway.com ]
