Mexico wants Obama investigated

In what probably will be called a racist statement, the President of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador (AMLO) has asked that the USA investigate why Obama sent 2,000 high powered rifles to Mexico in a program called Fast and Furious under the auspices of Eric Holder (Obama A.G.) The rifles ended up in the hands of narcoterrorist cartels and we used in the deaths of 500 Mexicans plus 1 American border patrol officer.

"I've heard a couple of responses to this. Some say President López-Obrador needs a distraction. Others say Mexico never really accepted the Obama administration's explanation of how 2,000 high-powered rifles traveled south of the border."

That whole episode was fishy. I remember seeing a press conference with Hold@r and President Ob&ma explaining the need for new gun control measures.

They talked about the guns coming from US gun shops to Mexican drug gangs and all the people that were dying in Mexico because of US guns.

There were stories in media every day about all the gun violence in Mexico because of guns coming from US with thousands of Mexican citizens dying.

Then the border patrol agent was killed and the gun was linked to F?st and F!rious.

Suddenly, all those stories stopped. No follow up on thousands dying, nothing. The push for gun control stopped.

Very fishy, imo

Edit to add: I doubt calls by a foreign govt. to investigate a past president will ever go anywhere. Think of all the people screaming that B@sh was a war criminal and the talk of investigations by foreign courts. The US will not set the precedence of allowing that to happen.

I agree with you that nothing will happen--for one thing it would be racist according to the Democrats. There is another angle to it if you believe in the Red-Green alliance, that is communists and Muslims. AMLO is an open communist and even named one of his sons after psychopathic murderer Che Guevara, and Obama is more or less a Muslim, so this is a case where there is a crack in the alliance but then I think that Islam will conquer communism in the long run because Islam does not compromise.

AMLO probably wants the USA to pay compensation to the victims who were murdered with the Obama-sent weapons. It is possible that AMLO wants technical assistance in fighting the cartels as they are growing stronger. I read where the son of El Chapo took over the town of Torreon, Coahuila, and was enforcing a Covid lockdown. I have been to Torreon years ago and it was a nice peaceful place and more or less a new city in the 20th century. It has to be embarrassing to AMLO that a cartel has taken over an agricultural and industrial hub and openly runs it.

Why would anyone dare to look askance at the Obama administration? After all he said he was a committed Christian (who advocated abortion rights). And Obama told us that "there was not a smidgen of scandal in his administration," never mind weaponizing the IRS to go after the Tea Party, and Justice to go after Trump and his staff.
