I am searching for a mid- trib. believing Baptist church that also believe in seperation, woman as the home maker and pro- homeschool. Is there any type of Baptist that believe this way?

Very few ifb churches (the kind you described) will be "pre-wrath" or "mid-trib" or whatever handle they give it. 99% of the ifb are firmly dispensational and pre-trib.

Most "reformed baptists" are leaning toward post-trib or even post-mill. Not me, mind you, but I'm in the 'odd lots'.

Now in the SBC and other groups of Baptists there is greater diversity. Hope someone from that area will be able to help you.

The best we can do is find a church that holds closest to our beliefs. My church is pre-trib...and there's a couple things we don't totally agree on, but there's no church in my area that I do agree with all the way. This one comes the closest, and it's why I'm there.

Gina, are you pre-trib? How do you differ from your churches beliefs?

No, I'm not pre-trib. That would be one of the differences right there. [IMG] Also, I don't believe in free will in the same way as my church does...but I'm no 5 point Calvinist by any means. :D More like...I just try to go by what the Bible teaches. ;)
(If any of that offended anyone it wasn't intentional...ya know where to reach me).
Right now those are the two things that I disagree with in the church. Of course there's little issues, but nothing to get all worked up over. We have a fairly new pastor, and I'm still learning what he's got to say on everything.
BUT, most important, is what they ARE teaching right! [IMG]
They're teaching Christ crucified, one way to salvation.
They're teaching reaching. Telling others about the story of Christ. Both in the community and through missions.
They also stand for the same things I believe in...against abortion, using the KJV, supporting homeschooling, etc..

    "Why don't you believe in a pre-trib rapture ?"

Well, the last time (and one of the only times) I even half discussed it on a board was about half a year ago. I'm still working on it. Taking my time because it's not at the top of my list as things that are gonna affect anyone's getting saved/walk if they believe one way or the other. ('cept maybe the amills) ;) At that time I stated I was post-trib...since then I started going toward mid, then toward pre- very briefly, then back to post, which is where I'm back at right now. [IMG] LOL. I think I'm just stuck there...I kept trying to get to pre, I SO wanted to fit in with everyone else, it just doesn't work!
Anyhow, read II Thess. chapter 2. The whole thing. The whole chapter deals with it, and also, note that we'll see the sop set up in the temple first...
The end of I Cor 15 also, speaking of the last trump, and correlating that with when it says the last one will sound. However, I'm thinking I might be wrong on that because of the context of ICor. Like I said, I'm workin' on it. [IMG]
Anyhow, enough for now. That's a little, we can go on it if you'd like.

I found the following book the best treatment of the whole subject: The book covers all positions with the pro and con for each. I really recommend it for anyone who is serious about finding the truth:

This is the classic work on the subject. It is pretrib and you will find several chapters in the book why he thinks that is the position taught in the bible.

    Happy reading and STUDYING!!!

If you desire to discuss the theology of a "mid-trib" or "pre-wrath" position, please start a new thread in the Baptist Theology section.

Actually, I'd be happy if you were so inclined. I find a debate on one of the "non-essential doctrines" that are a "fine point" of our faith to be a blessing.

I look at pre-trib, mid-trib, and post-trib as still ALL Pre-Millennial and that is the good news!

Mr. Curtis, I'll just re-post my answer over there. You can comment on it, the people who know more about it will start jumping in, and by the time I get uncomfortable with it there'll be enough other conversation on it going on that I can tip-toe away. ;) [IMG]
    Deal?
