Yeah, I guess this is how the dems felt a couple years ago.

But, I congratulate the dempcrat's who got in, looks like a majority in one house, but especially Joe Lieberman, my all-time favorite politician. I am very happy for him.

And I hope & pray that the gains will be used to work with our president, not against him.

 

UUUUGGGGG!!! that is one guy I would never vote for....
He says he stands for Christian values, but his votes in Congress has proven otherwise...

I almost vomited a few months ago.. He ran an ad, quoting scripture and talking about how he stands for prayer in school.... but he has voted against it.... and also he is very pro choice.

He is a good politician though... He can really read people and knows how to get the votes...

I am rather astonished to hear you say that about Joseph Lieberman. You do realize that he is quite liberal on a great deal of issues? I love Lieberman and have going all the way back to my days as a militant Dittohead Conservative. He was out on the front lines during the civil rights struggle, so he always "got a pass" from me for that one single reason. I don't know if he is my favorite, but I do like him tremendously.

Regards to you, let's see what happens in Big Sky Country. All the channels say that it's too close to call there, just as it is here in the Old Dominion.

It's nothing to cry about. Continuous reform is a hallmark of democracy. Our rights as citizens, including our religious practice, are constitutionally protected. But the church has never needed the power of the state to advance the Kingdom of God, which is its primary purpose. It is just a shame that so many Christians waste their time and resources on secular politics and politicians who do not deliver on their promises. The church can use this tremendous opportunity to throw away the false crutch of the Republican party that evangelicals in particular have been clinging to since they were seduced by the lying lips of Ronald Reagan in 1980 and stand on its own two feet, preaching the gospel instead of political reform. Stop abortion by converting and discipling young girls who get into trouble, and be pro-active in adoption. Support government programs that allow those in poverty to choose to keep their babies. Win the lost and pray for those who feel trapped and imprisoned by their gender confusion. Minister instead of condemn and criticize. Then you will see real change, and not an illusion of it promised by politicians who never get around to delivering on their promises.

This is still America, and it is still free, and it will still continue to be. Take advantage of it, instead of cowering. You've lost nothing. Gain grace.

 

May have to wait until morning to know for sure, but with Democrats leading in Senate races in Virginia and Montana, and Missouri exit polls showing the Democrat winning there, with heavy support from St. Louis and Kansas City precincts that haven't been counted yet, both houses may be Democratic controlled.

The sky will not fall.

 

Well, I'm heading off to bed. The liar Corker eked by in Tennessee, but the Democratic contenders are all three now leading in Montana, Missouri and Virginia, and if those results hold, as I think they will, the entire Congress will be Democratic controlled.

And the sky still won't fall.

Congratulations to the Democrats on winning control of the House and, possibly, the Senate. With control of the Congress also comes bearing some responsibility for what happens during the next couple of years. The same voters that put them in office can turn around and vote them right back out in 2008 if they don't perform well.

Here's hoping that the Democrats and the Republicans will work together to solve problems such as making Social Security and Medicare solvent for the long term, balancing the budget, and developing a winning strategy in the war against the militant Islamists.

In Montana our choices weren't good. Conrad Burns (Dishonest took funds from Jack Abramoff(sp?) and John Tester who lied about Burns voting for a 23% sales tax increase. Both men are morally bankrupt and neither deserve to be in leadership roles.

 

I hate both the morally corrupt Democratic Party and the imperial no-tax-and-spend GOP. I happened to vote for Republicans this time since there was no other better option in my district in FL. Had there been a better option, I most certainly would have taken it.

We are probably condemning millions of Iraqi's to slaughter, beginning right after we withdraw. No country on earth will ever trust our military might to liberate and defend them again. The United States is now a legitimate target again, because we've chosen not to defend her.

In S. Dakota they rejected a right to life bill because it didn't provide for the murder of the unborn due to rape or incest.

Same sex marraige passed in 3 states, having never made it before.

We have taken a giant step downward, amidst much glee and revelry.

The Republicans have had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (some of us believe it was a God-given opportunity) to control the presidency and both houses on Capitol Hill. They had the opportunity to do great things for this nation, including attempting to stop the murder of innocent Americans in the womb and protect their Constitutional rights. They blew it.
