Mike Huckabee won't run in 2012

I'm not at all surprised by this. Long explanation or not, he knew from the get go he was trounced severely the last time and he does not have the support this time. He's also got a great gig going with Fox News which he would have to give up to run for President.

I do not think he is charismatic enough of a politician to beat Obama and we need someone truly charismatic to gather in the voters to win.

Unfortunately that "gift" of being charismatic is almost a prerequisite to become President - a "gift" that Obama does have.

I am also surprised at this news. I always thought that Huckabee had a chance to win the nomination.
I agree, and I think he could've given Obama huge problems in the general.

Trounced? Didn't he finish 3rd in the GOP primary field in '08? And compared to McCain and Romney, Huckabee oozes charisma. He's personally engaging, every bit as much as Obama.

I doubt very seriously his one hr a week on Fox is more appealing than being POTUS.

Anyone who wants the job of president is almost as crazy as someone who wants to be a god which is also a fair argument against the LDS.

I hate this. He was the only Republican I'd have voted for that has put their hat in so far. I hope they come up with someone better than eye of Newt, Romney or McCain.

Yes, I stand by trounced. The definition of which is defeated heavily. Winning 8 states out of 50, winning 20% out of 100% of the vote, only half the number of votes of McCain....yes, that's trounced. As for the charisma issue, I don't disagree with your assessment of his charisma as compared to the others mentioned. HOWEVER, he doesn't come close to Obama's and that's the one that needs to be bet in 2012.

Hey, I saw Cain on Fox news....I think it was a (shudder) Glen Beck show - and I was impressed.

Shame about Huckabee not running; at least we knew he was a Christian instead of just paying lip-service to the concept.

One clown down 3 more to go. Still waiting on the best candidate to put their name in the hat.

This will hopefully be the candidate and hopefully next President of this nation.

Herman Cain.
Cain certainly made a good first time out impression. He is a natural born standup comedian.
