Have you ever been to a reunion of your former military unit.
If so, tell us a little about it.

    If not, why not?

A year or so ago, I attended a gathering of friends I had in High School and in my years just out of High School. One of them had been drafted with me and we went through most of boot camp together. He got sick and so missed the last week or two, so when I headed for advance individual training, we were separated and I did not see him again until after we were discharged. The others had avoided the draft, either for medical reasons or getting married in the nick of time. I enjoyed sharing stories of the good old days. For example, in boot camp, on a Saturday (we got off mid day) several of us recruits were sitting on the back porch of our barracks. A car drove by and we recognized our company executive officer, a Second Lieutenant. We all stood at attention, as a joke and shouted "Good Afternoon, Sir." The car drove a little distance, then stopped with a screech of brakes and backed up to be opposite us. He leaned out the window, pointed to his watch and said, "Poor judgement, it is still morning. Drop and get them" and then drove away. We laughed, but we did some pushups. :)
