Seems to keep moving east northeast, instead of turning northeast like the forecast tracks keep showing, as of the 4:00 CDT report today. Wouldn't a later turn to the northeast than anticipated mean that landfall would be further south in Florida instead of near Tampa as has been forecasted?
I know someone who lives in Stuart Florida (around 40 miles north of West Palm Beach) that sounds confident this hurricane will not bring much danger to his area at all. He is expecting some rain for around 4 days or so with winds at around 40 mph but overall, no biggie, according to him. I would not be so overconfident! A monster hurricane like that can be unpredictable.

He’s wrong. He will get hurricane force winds, or very close to that.
