does anyone know if this guy is a christian or not? i have heard that he is. but i havnt been able to find out. i dont know why it doesnt say anything anywhere about anything. well, i cant find anything anyways.

(knowing you people you'll say that since it doesnt say anywhere that he's a christian or not, you'd probably say he wasnt... its not good to assume.)

    im just wondering. that's all.

Moby is a vegan and a minimalist, but I do not know if he is a Christian. I like to listen to him occasionally.

I don't think he claims to be a Christian artist although a friend has told me that he is personally. I can't find where he said anything about being a Christian. But that doesn't mean anything. So I'm not gonna judge Matthew 7:1

I've been a Moby fan for about a decade.

I'm more of a fan of his earlier techno tracks, my favourite one being First Cool Hive.

He has stated in the past that he is a Christian and does talk about Christian issues in his Journal, but mostly with criticism towards the "Christian right".

I have heard that he is a Christian, but I am unsure of which denomination he affiliates himself too.

I'm part of the "I'm not sure department" on this one. I have heard that he has commented on being a "Christian" at some point, but he is also very much a leftist when it comes to a lot of political stances...not that i think political opinions does or doesn't make a Christian; but it is part of the "fruit" we can bear.

Personally i don't listen to him because of his affiliation with groups like moveon.org and their "Bush is a nazi" fascination.

    my 2 cents

Well, if that is the case, then why did you introduce his political affiliation into the discussion? I have been identified by some as "very much a leftist" but nobody has ever used that as a jumping point to question my faith.

You don't listen to him because of his politics? Wow.....

Is there anything wrong with not listening to someone because of their political leanings?

If i see someone who is promoting "political" issues (although i think they do cross the line to moral and ethical) like abortion or gay rights...i will not waste my time or money on them; be it music, movies, etc.

Is this the same musician who did the score for the James Bond movie "Die Another Day"? I absolutely loved the score.

I believe the name "Moby" comes from the fact that he's related to Herman Melville, or something like that. Cool, huh?

One is free to choose or refrain from music for whatever reason they wish. For example, I like Elton John music, and continue to be so, despite the fact that he's a public homosexual.

No, as that is your right.

So you are saying that the artist's political affiliation can and will limit the enjoyment you get from listening to the music?
    Hmmmm...................
