    Hi everyone,
Have you seen the movie "Monster Inc"?

I wonder what your favorite scene is?

Mine is when Sully and Mike(one eyed monster)were trying to send Boo back to her door and Mike hollered at Sully to"put that thing back where it came from,or so help me".A mean monster heard him and Mike tryed to protect Boo by saying,oh that was just a song and he started singing"put that thing back where it came from,or so help me'..funny

    God bless,Charles

I saw the movie. I have it on my computer. I thought the little girl was so cute. I loved her voice. I loved how she kept getting on Sully's back all the time. And that little monster outfit was so cute. I think I enjoyed it as much as the kids did.

My daughter re-enacts the scene when Sully is watching the garbage processor/compacter as he thinks Boo is in it. She has all his facial expressions down pat, and we see her do this scene at least twice a day - she's 11. It would be a safe guess that this is her favorite scene. I like the slapstick scenes most, and really enjoy Pixar's devotion to putting blooper clips at the end.

    Have a great day.

    I enjoyed Monsters, Inc. *"Kitty!"*

But I loved the short, "For the Birds" that played just before it and is included on the DVD. Great story, great animation, great moral lesson, *very* funny. [IMG] [IMG] :D

Yeah! "For the Birds" is great! I've played it over a couple of times and laugh just as hard as I did the first time. Oh, my side aches... [IMG]

My second funny part was when little Boo had to use the restroom.

Sully wanted to help and when he opened the door a tiny bit and asked her was she done,I think she said...nah..nah..and then Sully said ..can I help..the expressions on sully's face was the key to the humor.

Boy,little boo is a typical 2 year old.

Adam and I saw it a couple of times in the movie theatre....I think we both went again and again just for the "For the Birds" clip! It was hilarious! It you have the DVD, you should play it with the commentary on......It's quite interesting!

I also like the part where all the kids start saying Mike's name, and then he says"Yeah, yeah"(or somethinmg like that) and thing one of the kids bite his arm! I've known some biters, and while it may not be funny when it happens, it sure is when you look back on it! [IMG]

Never seen it. Why would it be a "favorite" of Christians on the BB?

    Serious question.

    It's a wholesome family movie....

You should watch it and you'd know why.....It's not something that I can explain in words....

We saw it at the show and loved it. We have it at home now. I have 2 teenage sons and they laughed through the whole thing. There favorite part was after the show ended and Mike was showing Sully his new car. They keep rewinding it to the part where Sully pulled the mirror of Mikes new are. I didn't really have a favorite part because the whole movie was equally good. I think it is a good movie for a christian family to have. It is hard to find a movie or cartoon these days decent to watch. I didn't find one thing in Monsters, Inc. that I felt shouldn't be in the movie like most that I have seen. ~Sheila~

The Sully goes into the closet and says, "See, there's no monsters in here, well...now there is!"

Have you all seen the bloopers?! Those were hilarious! The kids I watch got a kick out of them! [IMG]

Teresa, I love that one, too!

You know, there are so many great scenes and lines in that movie . . . I went home and watched it last night for about the 10th time.

You know, I still get teary at the very end when Sully's face lights up when Boo says, "Kitty!"

    I just love that . . . "Kitty!"

I enjoyed Monsters Inc. so much that I bought the DVD. And I'm in my 30s. [IMG]

However, one thought came to my mind as I was reading another thread on the B.B. about Harry Potter (I bought this DVD too). Christian's all over are standing up against Harry Potter, yet I've never seen a *single* word against Monsters Inc. Why? Because it's less obvious in it's subtle messages? Consider:

    - "monsters" living in another dimension, and the movie puts them in a "lovable" light.
    - their "job", and the way they receive "power", is through fear
    - their forms are often "abominations" of creation, combinations or perversions of the species God created (the boss is a half-crab/half-multi-eyed-slug, Mike's girlfriend is modeled after the false god Medusa, etc.)

Don't get me wrong, I love the movie. I guess I'm just trying to make the point that "evil" in movies does not mean we as Christians cannot enjoy them. Or does it? ;)

On the serious side, even though the world is "Monstropolis" and the main characters are monsters, it's not about being scary. In fact, one of the things they discover is that laughter is better than scared screams...

The monsters don't scare because they're mean; the reasons are purely practical.

I know a lot of Christians who wouldn't watch it because it was about monsters, but really, these monsters are just like regular folks - they just look funny and some can do weird things (like turn invisible). And it's not about making something evil into something wholesome, so as to trick or indoctrinate people, as is often said about HP.

The message of the movie is wonderful, and the whole thing is, well, wholesome.

When Mike puts his contact in! ROFL! That is just too much!

As for comparing Monsters to Harry Potter, witch craft is all too real, while we know monsters are not, and God speaks out against witch craft. We know that there isn't some factory somewhere that rotates doors to let monsters in and out of a kid's closet. [IMG]

    Teresa,
I also get a little teary eyed when Sully at the end puts little Boo in her bed and Little Boo says "Kitty",then Sully looks sad and says "Kitties gotta go",then they hug.....

I'm an ol man and remember when "song of the south" came out(ol uncle remus).Grownups and kids(and teenagers)all enjoyed it.Monsters, inc is similar in that respect.

Of course, having a 2 year old grandaughter that I play with once a week, just makes Little Boo that much sweeter.

    God bless,Charles
