mouse "roll over"

    Okay, okay, before you all are rolling on the floor laughing your heads off, I'm not talking about teaching an old mouse new tricks [​IMG] [​IMG]

    No, what I'm talking about is when you're visiting a website,and you roll the pointer over a link, it "changes." A different size of the same word comes up, or a picture comes up.

    How is that done? I'd like to add that feature to my site ( On Eagles Wings ), but I have no idea how it's done.

    Any help/info/URL's would be greatly appreciated.

    Are you talking about the "Ctrl" button and the "center mouse button".

    While holding the Ctrl button down roll the center button ( or wheel) on your mouse. This will inlarge the words or make them smaller.

    Maybe this is not what you want. Let me know I am curious.

    No, what I'm talking about can be seen at the vineyard of oak park web site.

    Roll your pointer the icons and see what happens. That's something like I want to use for my site.

    There's a couple of different ways to do it; an applet is simplest and easiest (in my opinion), but isn't supported by Netscape or Opera.

    Javascript is the most popular. Go here: http://builder.cnet.com/webbuilding/pages/Authoring/Stupid/ss10.html?tag=st.bl.7690.dir1.Stupid_10

    A third way, and probably the easiest, is to introduce the "hover" attribute with cascading style sheets.

    In the case of the web page you introduced, you can do what they did with Javascript; examining their code, I'm not sure what program they were using. Reminded me of Cold Fusion, but Cold Fusion uses different tags.

    The easiest way to do this is with a style sheet (this can control the colour, decoration font etc of the link) ie:

    &lt;/html&gt;</pre>[/QUOTE]you can also do it with javascript (this is used for image swapping) - here is a good page explaining how to do it

    Yay for Sherrie! Thank you! That's beautiful! I tried setting the computer's font bigger but not everyone who uses it has my horrid vision, so this is much better!
