Muslim Anger Again

This reminds me of something that happened to me about a yr ago.
I have a son that had to have brain surgery about 3 yrs ago, so we have to go to the Cleveland Clinic every so often for check ups. When we go, we stay at the Ronald McDonald House. There are a few Muslim families that stay there. Some have to stay for months at a time because of the severity of their child's problem. And people from all over the world come to this house.

This house is truly a mission field in and of itself. I am a people person so I love going to the dining room and making friends. We share in our struggles with childhood diseases and life. It is a great way to meet people to share Christ too. And although some of the Muslims there are strict Muslims, they are human too. And will talk about life. I know no Arabic, and they know very little English, but amazingly, we can still communicate and understand each other....sometimes it even feels supernatural.

My son was admitted to the hospital for about 1 week. And my wife always stays in his room. I usually get to the hospital around 7 am, and go back to the house about 7pm.

One evening after arriving back at the house, a few of us were sitting in the lobby playing board games. I think I was playing "Clue', when we heard an argument break out upstairs between 2 Muslim fathers. They were shouting in Arabic, and those of us that don't know the language were curious.

One of the girls (I'll call her "Mary") that was playing the game with us was the daughter of one of the guys arguing. So she started translating into English what they were saying. Guess what they were arguing about.....

Religion...

The guy arguing with "Mary's" dad was telling her dad that he was not a true muslim... because he refused to make Mary cover her face.
He said that Mary's dad wasn't fundamental enough, and that he was a....
Get this........"a liberal"

I had to chuckle to myself...
because it sounded like so many arguments I heard among Baptists about the pants issue.

I started to ask "Mary" what version of the koran she used...and was it the 1611 Koran, but caught myself...

It opened my eyes to the fact that not all Muslims are evil, or even hateful, or even view our country as 'evil" There are some nutcases out there, but there are some that are also open to the Gospel.

 

But how many times have we heard professed Christians tell other Christians that they aren't "true" Christians, because they don't comply with some doctrine invented by men?

No, fundamentalists can be found in all religions.

All Christians are right. But some fundamentalists have added unbilblical doctrines to the faith.

 

They're not angry. They've simply learned to play the "I'm offended" card as their excuse. It's certainly working!

What cracks me up is that everyone's falling for it and apologizing.

I'm tempted to raise a stink about how offended I am that they're offended and see if I get anywhere. :laugh:
