Muslim *Moderates* and Terrorism

I agree with the author of the New York Sun article that we cannot count on the so-called moderates. We dump $2,000,000,000 a year in Egypt in order to feed the starving but the popular opinion is that we are the enemy. You just can't buy friends. I think that everything depends upon our total military victory in the war against terror because the propaganda victory will only follow the military victory.

I just finished reading the 1605 novel The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha, known as Don Quixote, which certainly celebrates Spanish freedom from the yoke of Islam that lasted from about 700 AD until 1492. Yet in the news yesterday was a story of Spanish destruction of some of the sites and heroes of that overthrow of the Moors in order to accomodate what amounts to the new Islamic invasion and ongoing conquest of Spain.

The point is that Islam is on the march and cannot be defeated by ideology alone because Islam is a closed system intellectually, much as communism is. So much depends upon the will of the USA to fight until victory.

As for what missionaries to send, I rely on the SBC as I have decided that we have too many para-church organizations and that the trouble with para-church organizations as evidenced by the Christian Research Institute and the Baptist World Alliance is that they fall into strange hands after the passage of time.

We are handicapped in the propaganda war in that we are limited in our broadcasts right now and even if we send television and radio signals and drop leaflets, we cannot count on the everyday person's ability to read or ability to have electricity and radio and television in the vast slums and squalor of the Arab League.
