I was thinking about something recently. Over the years I've heard many people say, "Tell me about your God. That person is always talking about theirs but I don't want to know theirs."

So I wondered - how do you describe Christ? What is the God you know like?

I chose everything but "all knowing" because of one instance in the Bible, Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father ONLY."

While on earth, even Jesus lived by faith.

Yeah you are right there webdog. We tend to think that He does know all things though. It is hard to comprehend God not knowing everything.

When Jesus was one day old, He did not know how to talk, walk, dress himself, feed himself, he could not do quite a few thing but do you really think that he did not know how to do those things "In the beginning..." when he was creating the world. His omniscience prior to and after his incarnation is not debateable. During his earthly ministry there are some interesting discussions about how this increase in knowledge from birth through his death relates to his omniscience from eternity past but it has nothing to do with his omniscience now. "All knowing" applies to him now quite well.

When I have a bad day, I try to bear it in mind that Jesus was fully God and also fully man, and He too had to deal with situations that can make people have a negative reaction. In spite of being fully human, He was able to overcome. Because He overcame, we can too with His help.

    He is....
the Comfort I have as my father tells me calmly of his brain tumor and limited time left on this earth. He is....the One who assures my father that he's headed home and he has nothing to fear. He is....the Certainty in my daddy's voice that everything IS okay--and He is....the Peace in my heart as I truly understand this to be so.

    He is....
    the Calm in the storm.

    He is....
the foundational rock upon which I can stand despite the tempests this life holds.

    He is...
my joy in the morning as I awaken to a new day of sunshine....or rain.

    He is....
my delight in the day as I am awed by the magnificence of His creation--from the tiniest roly-poly bug or frog that fascinates my grandsons...to the grandest rainbow gracing the sky.

    He is....
my "goodnite hug" as I go to sleep knowing that I am nestled safely in His all-poweful arms.

    He is....
    ALL.

In regards to Christ, I meant today - now, as part of the trinity.

Terriloo - that is an AWESOME post. [IMG]

    Victory In Jesus - Amen

    Rachel - Amen

TomMann - I hope and pray that those people checked "all of the above" and figured they didn't need to click "holy" again.

Terriloo that was awesome! What a difference it makes having that peace and comfort from our Creator. I really experienced that with my grandma that just died a week ago.

God is good all the time! [IMG]

    My God is.

That's all he really needed to say about himself to Moses. "I AM"

From that phrase of course, theologians would extrapolate primarily the facets of his person that he is self-existent, self-referential, self-worshipping, eternal, complete/perfect, and primary.

Its just easier to say "He Is" than to try and list all the things he is.
