For those interested, this is my travel blog. Lord-willing, I hope to have a lot of entries from various countries we have visited in the last two or three decades. Lots of photos. Currently there are entries on Mexico, Belize, Georgia (the country), Ukraine, China, and Japan.

This is my most recent entry of our trip five years ago to Hiroshima:

Fascinating! Thanks for the fantastic pics & personal incite! Ever read Harry Franck? I think he authored about 25 books, all in my library. I was reminded of him while reading your blog.

Thanks again for the link. My wife and I are both interested in his writing now that we see the many books that are available online. Apparently he has been to a number of countries that we also have visited. His writing is very readable.

You will see familiarity but you are seeing it from the more current state. I would think you will enjoy him. Maybe you will write some books, who knows? My library is pretty full, but I’ll make space, heh.

Actually I was in the process of writing a book on our Mexico and Northern Central American travels but most of my notes were stolen, along with my laptop and two hard drives in a bus in Peru. That was disheartening and put the brakes on that endeavor for a long time. But now I am thinking of redoing the book. We have since been to all the countries of Central America and every state in Mexico. Certainly enough material for a book. And maybe other ones from other places. Who knows?

Here is the cover of that aborted first edition:
