My view on Jackson's death

I think certain people on this board and elsewhere seem to misunderstand some of the fuss relating to his death. At the end of the day, he was regarded both as a musical legend (whether deserving or not) and also an intriguing celebrity, and this is why his death has got so much coverage.

Nobody is glorifying the fact he was accused of child abuse; in fact, those giving him the good press are those who believe he was innocent. My view is that he was in fact innocent; its just that he was so naive that he didn't realise the outside world would get the wrong idea about certain things. We know he did inappropriate things (perhaps without understanding) but did he commit outright abuse?

I saw an article (which I will post if I can find it) the other day, written by somebody who had met Jackson some time ago who said he always felt Jackson was simply a naive man whom people misunderstood, and that they projected their own perversions onto him.

Sure they do, everyday. Innocent men strike plea bargains. Innocent men pay off because it is cheaper than a trial. Jackson was eccentric, no doubt. But there is no proof of the allegations, and he was acquitted on similar charges. The man is dead, so time to let it go.

Parents who sent their little kids to spend the night at the home of a celebrity. Sounds like a setup to me.

We weren't there, so we will never know. Michael was a child in a man's body....he never had a childhood, and his father was an abusive and controlling idiot who lived (and still lives) off of his children's talents.

This to me is part of the problem with our country. Self indulgent excuse making.

Michael Jackson may have had a childhood filled with hard work but he also lived a lavish lifestyle even then.

It was not too many years ago that children worked in sweat shops and in coal mines. In some countries it still happens.

But we look at someone who was a popular public performer, that was praised by his public, that made millions upon millions of dollars and then excuse his bad behavior and bad character on not getting to play with the toys that he may have wanted to as a child.

How do we explain people like Dr. Ben Carson who grew up in poverty - with no real childhood - and yet went on to become a prominent physician?

I am not being self indulgent. I am just sorry that noone ever led him to Christ, and that he is burning in hell. His sins are no different than mine in God's eyes, but I have trusted Christ, so I am Heaven-bound.....and that is the only difference between him and I.

I don't think anyone is excusing bad behavior but are saying there was another side of this man. I am glad God didn't focus on my faults and saw my potential good so I try to do the same for my fellowman.

I don't think it's very Christian to look at any person and only see their faults. Certainly if we can see their faults, we can also see their good.

Now that guy is sure taking the death of his son bad... If anyone ever doubted Michaels home environment and example of manhood, I think their doubts are now gone.

I only am observing his professed beliefs. Based upon what he has said to the masses, I do not believe he ever trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Yes, that is why you go on and on in a most harsh and negative way about Sarah Palin.
