ME AND MY WIFE WERE MARRIED ON DECEMBER 19TH 2001. I KNEW SHE WAS MORMON BEFORE WE GOT MARRIED. SHE HAS TOLD ME IN THE PAST THAT SHE WAS NOT SURE THAT MORMON BELIEFS WERE THE TRUTH SO SHE STARTED READING THE BIBLE. SHE STILL READS THE BIBLE BUT IS STILL NOT SURE WHICH TO BELIEVE. I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MORMON BELIEFS, NEITHER DO I WISH TO LEARN. I HAVE TRIED TO WITNESS TO HER IN THE PAST AND AM STILL DOING SO NOW. THE TROUBLE THAT I HAVE IS THAT I CANT FIND SCRIPTURE THAT HELPS ME TO BETTER WITNESS AND TEACH HER AGAINST THE BOOK OF MORMON AND THEIR BELIEFS. I LOVE MY WIFE AND WANT TO LEAD HER TO CHRIST SO SHE CAN ACCEPT HIM AS HER PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT AND GIVE ME SOME SCRIPTURE.

My best advice is to go to a christian bookstore and buy a couple of books on the subject. Maybe even one that is designed to be read by a mormon.

As a guide I would direct you to Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify to anyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds to these things God will add to him the plauges that are written in this book; and if any one takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book.

The Revelation is the End of the Bible. There is no more. No quaran's, no Bahi writings, no extra scrolls, no hidden commandments and absolutley no book of Mormon.

    Hello.
First, typing in all caps on the internet is akin to yelling at someone and makes your text hard to read.
Second, why is it suddenly a problem if you knew she was Mormon when you married her, or were you also unsaved at the time of the marriage?
Third, there is no specific scripture that says that mormonism is wrong. If you are a Christian you know what is right, and you are familiar with the verses that say what is necessary for salvation and that teach again polytheism.

If there is a specific question she has or a particular belief you are stuck on, you might want to post and ask on that specifically in order for anyone to be able to help out.

I showed her this passage and she believes that the plates where the book came from was not discoverd until late after Revelations.

sorry for writing in all caps.
and second, it is not suddenly a problem. like i said in my post i have been trying to witness to her. it takes time obviously. and i realize there is no specific passage on mormons. it is a cult. why would there be?

If the plates are so sacred and important to mormons, why are they lost? It might also pay to let her know that the book of mormon refers to horses in America in the time of the American indians, yet it is a proven fact that they were also introduced to America by white settlers.

The Mormon church try to hide this, but Joseph actually wrote a hymn about people that lived on the moon.

JC, is she in the regular Mormon church or the reformed one? How long has she been in?
If you'd like and you have instant messenger, I'd lik to "meet" her. My AIM name is delosarboles, just let me know when if it's ok. I don't bite, I promise. [IMG]

My advice would be just encourage her to keep doing what she is doing, Reading the Bible. Talk to her about what she reads. Tell her if she isn't sure what to believe, to start there. Don't read the Word of God trying to prove or disprove anything, read it for what it says. Take her through the book of John. Read and discuss who Jesus is. Help her to find Jesus. The Spirit is the one that is goint to have to convict of her of the truth. Now while you are studying there may be questions that come up about Mormonism, if so deal with them then. It is alright for you to read up on the subject, but don't try to load her down with materials from other people, show her in the Word. After all, if she isn't supposed to believe thier prophet, why should she believe some theologian?

My husband and I had some doctrinal differences when we married. We began by studying the Bible together without hitting the passages that we were taught differently about. We both focused on finding out what the Word of God said rather than what we were taught or what we thought. My husband and I both have found some new truths. Although my basic doctrine was reconfirmed upon study, I did find some new truths and found some places I had been mistaken about. My husband has since found most of his theology had been wrong. Neither of us would read any outside material UNTIL we had determined for ourselves what the Word was really saying. Then, as we read what others had to say we could easily determine ourselves if they were wrong or not. Knowing the Word being open to it's truth are the most important factors when seeking the truth.

I pray that your wife will find who Jesus really is. The Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked, but we never listen. Because of that we must suffer the heart ache of realizing our spouse is lost each and every day. It's not easy, but I pray that your spouse will find the Truth!

That would be in Romans 1 but is not relevant to your problem.
My daughter joined the Mormons several years ago and every attempt to do what you are doing widened the divide between us and drove her further into the LDS church in her search for their pat rebuttals to everything you will be telling your wife.
I know every single argument against Mormonism and they have bizarre explainations to dismiss them all from their minds.

It is easy to disprove Mormonism to anyone who is not a Mormon.
All the evidence is against it.
There is not one bit of proof that the Book of Mormon is true, except this burning belief that it is.
    If your wife does not already have it, DO NOT drive her into it. {Yes, I shouted.}
The more you argue, the stronger her resistance will become.
Just love her. God will show her the error of Mormonism if she is truly looking for truth.
If she is not, there is certainly nothing you can do in the way of providing anything she will accept.
Attend a good church regularly and be a good husband and let her make her own choice.
The best witness to her will be your actions.
    Again, just love her.

I think reading up on it yourself is a good idea. I always find it easier to witness to people if I understand what their beliefs are. The only concern I had was for you not to bombard her with too many things and too many ideas.

I don't know what materials to recommend, I have "The God Makers", by Ed Decker and Dave Hunt, but I haven't read it yet, so I can't tell you how informative it is. :D

I am sure you can find some great resources on the net as well.
