The national debt for the first four months of fiscal year 2024 increased by $1,023,816,357,670.50. Extrapolated through the end of fiscal year 2024 on September 30, 2024, that would be an increase for the fiscal year of $3.1 trillion. Also, if extrapolated to find the estimated date when the national debt would hit $40 trillion, at the rate for the first four months of fiscal year 2024, the date would be December 2025, or just 23 months away.
