NATO leaders pledged their “unwavering commitment” to boost defense spending on Wednesday, following stern words from President Trump criticizing European leaders for spending too little.

The U.S. and European allies signed a declaration stating they are “committed to improving the balance of sharing the costs and responsibilities of alliance membership.”

The declaration comes after confrontational and testy discussions between Trump and other NATO leaders.

Of course, they did. And the EU admitted it was because of Trump...but the media kinda leaves that part out.

I think we should bring our contributions in line with a fair average of what others are doing & see how far NATO gets.

US———————————————-3.61
Greece————————--2.38
Britain——————-——2.21
Estonia———————-2.16
Poland—————-—-2.00
France——————-1.78
Turkey————-—-1.56
Norway—————-1.54
Lithuania————1.45
Portugal————1.38
Bulgaria————1.35
Croatia———--1.23
Albania———-1.21
GERMANY—-1.19
Denmark——-1.17
Netherlands—1.17
Slovakia——-1.16
Italy————1.11
Czech R——1.04
Hungary——1.01
CANADA—-.99
Slovenia—-.74
Spain——.91
Belgium—.85
Luxe-
mbourg-.44

So when you average out what countries are paying, it’s 1.40. How would they all like it if we were just ‘fair’ & paid the average. What are we really getting for the money? Trump is right, as usual.

NATO serves no real purpose anymore and Turkey undermines the war against terrorism. They need to be booted, if nothing else.

Now we need him to put the heat upon Puttin when they meet....

I doubt we'll be able to get Putin to help fund NATO. ;)

But I'll bet Russia is enjoying watching the EU self destruct with their insane immigration policy.

Europe still needs NATO, the most successful alliance in history. We could draw down some of our troops there if Europe would step up to defend themselves. People such as the English tell us that we should increase our welfare as they have done with their cradle to grave schemes and meanwhile they tell us to keep up our military spending to protect them because they don't want to be militaristic as we are. As for Turkey, they are duplicitous but an ally of sorts--that is, they are just like most of the Europeans.
