Natural Disasters

    Natural disasters (e.g., floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.). We find that almost throughout the entire OT as well as in many prophetic passages in the NT these are used as judgments of God.

    Is it therefore correct to assume that ALL such natural disasters are judgments of God in some way, shape or form?

    If so, or if not, what specific scriptures do you have to support your position?

    If it could be that some are and some aren't, does the Bible give us any objective way of determining which particular natural disaster in this day and age IS God's judgment and which particular natural disaster in this day and age IS NOT God's judgment?

    I believe Gen 6:13 established the fact that God has power and control over the universe, including natural disasters. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth...."

    We can find many isolated verses that confirm this fact of God's stepping in to teach man, but this does not conclude that all natural disasters are sent by God, as much as they are the result of the natural order of things.
