Kudos to him for realizing what he had said and independently reporting it. Sadly there are people in all aspects of professional sports and corporate America who say the same things "behind the scenes".

And he also seems to not take into account that folks like to see teams that they feel like are gonna do something in the playoffs. The Hawks suck. If they moved the arena to the suburbs , the Hawks would still suck and they would still need gimmicks to fill seats.

When it comes to football and basketball, Atlanta simply hasn't been very good. And where people inside the Perimeter might go downtown to watch a sub-par team, not too many folks, Black or White, are gonna drive into downtown to watch a team that sucks.

Put up a better product that can compete for championships like the Braves did for so long, and people will come from all over to watch.

That constitutes sucking in a lot of cities. And that's the attitude the Atlanta teams are gonna have to start having if they want interest in their product to increase.

Starting the season with an intent to "make the playoffs" is what a losing atmosphere produces.

Atlanta teams have been "content" to make the playoffs. I have yet to see a single team in Atlanta football or basketball, even their Super Bowl team, who has played with an attitude of we're playing to win it all.

Their product sucks.

If you don't start the year with an attitude of we're playing for the Super Bowl or the NBA Finals, who cares?

Jerry Jones is another one who will soon come to see that if you continue to put forth a sucky product, you're gonna lose so much of a fan base that you won't be able to depend on merchandise sales to continue with an "I don't care if they suck, I'm still making money" attitude.

But they are free from being seen as racists because they are currently immune from such sin and wrong doings.

All the tolerance training, political correctness requirements and diversity policies will never change human nature. What Paul called the "Sin nature!"

In Atlanta, African-Americans are 54 percent of the population, but are responsible for 100 percent of homicide, 95 percent of rape, 94 percent of robbery, 84 percent of aggravated assault, and 93 percent of burglary.

I believe those statistics are just arrests. The statistics do not account for murders, rapes, robberies, aggravated assaults, and burglaries where no arrests were made. So the person who made the statistical comment would be incorrect in doing so.

Nonetheless for just arrests, the numbers are still startling.

The trigger of events that led to the toppling of Atlanta Hawks owner Bruce Levenson began with general manager Danny Ferry referring to free agent Luol Deng as still having "some African in him" on an organizational conference call, league sources with direct knowledge of the probe told Yahoo Sports.

SMH. Who makes comments like these? These folks are obviously comfortable talking in such a manner. Who gets on an organizational conference call and says something like this unless you're colloquially used to carrying on conversations like that?

It almost seems that there is a culture of this in the organization.

It is just another part of man's sin nature showing its ugly head. Still, truth be known none of us is without the stains of racist thoughts, words and actions on our hands. Racism is as old as the first time humans came across people different than themselves. :tear::tear::tear:
