Near death experiences

These accounts seem to multiply like Gremlins! Read another one today of some Buddhist Monk who was dead for 3 days and then came back to life. What say you of these accounts? If it's not biblical it's a false account. But was the monk really dead for that long? Seems unreal. Maybe he made the story up.

That's what I thought. These accounts are made up. Lies!

I dont know if this of OP - but about 20 years ago, a prisoner serving a life sentence at the Auburn (NY) State prison was declared dead by the prison death. Somehow he came back. He then went to court and insisted he should be released from prison as he had completed his life sentence.

Apparently, the court did not agree with him

and YES, this is a true story -

happen too long ago- couldn't find a link for it - and I am getting to old to remember all the details. Not sure how
much time intervened.
But he did have an interesting defense

International Mission Board President David Platt....recounted the story -- which, though atypical in Western experience, bore similarities to biblical accounts of raising the dead -- during his report to the Southern Baptist Convention's Executive Committee, Sept. 19 in Nashville.

The episode illustrates, he said, the spiritual fruit that has come as IMB missionaries have shared the Gospel

Christians went to express their condolences at a house where the man's body lay. Standing over his body, they began praying "that God would show His mercy

"This Asian believer tells our missionary," Platt said, "that as they were praying there over the man, all of the sudden the man coughed. Everybody in the house got really still. And the man coughed again.

People came rushing over, and the village leader started breathing. People started helping him up. Everybody's looking at these Asian believers like, 'What happened?'

I remember this, and I remember liking this statement:

Platt, acknowledging he doesn't know if the man was really dead, offered an evaluation.

"I do know [that] at villages like this, they know how to recognize death," he said. Yet "even if he wasn't dead, God sure chose an opportune moment for that guy to cough."

Would say that unless the person converts to Jesus as their Lord, all of those experiences are either too much pizza, or satan diverting attention! Also, very strange that God forbidden Paul to describe what he saw in heaven, and yet people now write whole books/tapes/movies on it, with much of it not found in Bible!

A living soul, leaves a "dying" body. Once the living soul departs, the BODY becomes physically dead.
A "near death" experience is when the "living soul" has departed, the Body is dead, and IF the living soul
returns to the Body, the body resumes living. Many times the departed "living soul" can recall what it sensed, during the time it was "departed" from the body.

Jesus' soul departed His dying body, and went to hell and preached, and 3 days later returned to his body.

A boy's soul departed his body, and his body was seen dead, and his living soul returned to his body, and his body resumed living. 1 Kings 17: 17-24

Lazarus raised from the dead. John 11: 43-44

So, yes, it is possible for a living soul to depart a dying body, and then impart back into the body, and the body resume living.

Saved living souls have departed their dead bodies, and such souls are with the Lord in Heaven, waiting for their bodies to become changed, so their restored souls can impart back into their new bodies.

Unsaved living soul have departed their dead bodies, and such souls are in hell, separated from the Lord, waiting for Judgement.
