Need Help (Old or Dead Computers)

    If you live in SE Texas I have a request. I do my best to supply people, such as High School students and the Elderly with computers for surfing the web and to do their homework. Being on VA Benefits, myself, I have no funding, just ability and desire. If your ´puter has been eaten up by a worm, trojan or virus and you have replaced it I can, usually, make it all good again by installing Ubuntu on it and then I find a person that needs and pass it to them, free, of course. If you live close enough to pass it off to me in Magnolia, just north of Houston, it can be put to very good use. Contact me through the IM or email me through this site.

    What a great idea! I'd post on Freecycle if I were you and on Craigslist as well. Can you also contact any computer repair places around you?

    Thanks to both of you, Iǘe been doing this for a little over two years now but my supply has dried up. i don post anything on Craige´s list because of the number of assaults, thefts and shootings associated with it here in this area.

    Freecycle can be a good resource as mentioned though ours had people running it that gleaned the good stuff before they posted the offers.

    Just a thought, some electronic stores take units for recycle. Wonder if they would let you have some of them if you told them what you used them for.

    That is an idea I had not considered and the local store i do business with is owned and operated by a Christian couple. Thank you, I will speak with him the next time I go into town.
