Need some help: offering plates

    I'm not sure which forum this question should be asked, so I apologize if this is placed in the wrong category.

    Does anyone know where I could find an offering plate with a flat rim rather than a grooved rim? The church wants it to be flat to facilitate engravement. Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you checked with Lifeway? Their catalog has several different selections...but I can't recall off the top of my head if they have offering plates like you want. Worth a look, though.

    Welcome to the BaptistBoard from PA, Groceryman!

    Almost all offering plates offered are manufacuted by the same company. They offer "grooved" sides for a better grip.

    You can use them and customize the center padded section...
    OR
    ...you can look around for something meeting your need but not officially labeled as an offering plate.
    Perhaps you can use a large brass communion bread plate, they have a flat rim.

    I looked at some wooden plates at Cokesbury---that I recall were flat rimmed---would you know if you prefer metal or wood plates?

    I'am a deacon in a 3 year old church in Vienna, WV. The Church was chartered with 527 members. In 3 short years we have gone from meeting in the local Holiday Inn to having 18 acres and a new Church building. Right now we are trying to get a 2nd service running (contemporary) but is meeting a lot of resistance from older memebers. Thanks for your ideas on the offering plate.
