hello all. i have been lurking here for a while. nice site and some good info. i was raised S. Baptist. my dad was even a baptist preacher. i got out of church when i was 17 and strayed for 14yrs and now i have gotten back to the Lord and enjoying life again. as of now i still haven't settled into a home church as of yet. just visiting around. i have gone several times to a church down the road from where i live and enjoy it. i just had a thread get locked i started asking a question for not being a baptist lol. sorry if i did something wrong but when im typing on my i-phone i go for the quickest and easiest typing i can do and may have gotten some of my wires crossed...like now lol :godisgood:

Welcome from another Western Kentuckian. You don't have to, but if you want to, narrow it down. What part of West Kentucky do you hail from. There are a few other flatlanders on the board so you're among friends.

Of course, some folks think Western Kentucky is everything west of Elizabethtown. Real wky-ers know better.

My wife is from KY, so I know of where you speak! She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, of McQuady, KY, (http://www.pleasantviewky.com,) Pastor Dale Massengale!
I notice you're from WKY. Ever been to Mayfield Creek Baptist Church? I believe it's in Bardwell. The pastor is Terry Norris.
BTW, as you can probably tell, spelling wasn't one of my stronger subjects in school. LOL

Hey, mjp, a couple of answers to your questions.

One, since your profile lists you as non-denom, the forum rules prohibit you from posting in in the Baptist-only sections. There are other sections open to all where you'll be welcome. If you do affiliate with a Baptist church (i hope), then you can post with the rest of us.

Second, the reason my name may vaguely ring a bill is that i worked for the Paducah TV station for 36 years before I retired 12 years ago.
