Climate change is projected to cause higher mortality in many parts of the United States, according to a new report published in the journal Science. Their analysis suggests that the country as a whole could see about 5.4 more deaths per 100,000 people for every degree Celsius the temperature rises. "There are going to be as many additional deaths from climate change as there are car crashes, and possibly more," James Rising, a coauthor of the report from the University of California at Berkeley, told the news website Axios. That increase in mortality is due to several factors related to climate change — a 2012 report by the Climate Vulnerability Monitor cited flooding, heat waves, wildfires, and crop shortages as primary risk factors. ...

Hmm comparisons to "car crashes" but not to abortions.

We are all going to die in one way or another. Answer me this Batman: What caused all the climate change in the centuries before man has reached the population density of today? Wait, wait, I'll answer for you. "Climate change" is a natural phenomena of the planet earth. Today it's warm and sunny and tomorrow it could be cold and rainy. While man has had an impact on the environment, in the end he is just a minor speck in the whole scope of things. Nature is more powerful than man could ever be.

But really, if any one living in those areas is so concerned about it, then they should move.

I'm smack dab in the middle of the dark blue spot in Central New York. I will probably die from the coming Ice Age instead.

Wait! The government (progressive style) has the solution - The Cap and Trade Act/Tax or AKA The Tax on Thin Air in which each citizen each tax year must calculate the value of their "Carbon Footprint" and include the tax amount (or use their credits) on their tax return.

It is not yet required (was waiting for Hillary) but the year I did mine as an experiment it turned out to be an EXTRA $1500.00!!

Yes we should be concerned about the environment and our air quality but liberal hysterics and hand wringing about Climate Change Fake Science/News will, if we allow it, turn into a sheep fleecing tax of which little will be spent on the so-called problem but will probably somehow find its way into certain "Foundation" mega-money sponges.

Far left extreme fear mongering. Seriously, I am surprised someone has the nerve to post something like that.

Now, how about a map showing how many people die from winter storms and freezing temperatures.

If I have to use my toes to figure that carbon tax do I have to pay more if my shoes are off?

NWS Weather Fatality, Injury and Damage Statistics

Well, as far as heat fatalities we were well below both the 10 year and 30 year average. We were up quite a bit on flood fatalities and above the 10 year average on winter fatalities (down on cold fatalities).

A fact of life – climates change. I think the biggest question is why, given evidence to the contrary, so many think they shouldn’t.

Blue areas in the map represent negative changes in the number of deaths per 100,000 people. In other words, the blue areas represent life, and life more abundantly!

Harsh winter took heavy toll on wildlife across western US

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wildlife suffered higher than normal losses this winter in severe weather across the western United States, where the toll included the deaths of all known fawns in one Wyoming deer herd and dozens of endangered bighorn sheep in California.

We can outlaw abortion and offset the numbers multiple fold.

I describe myself as a climate-change wonderer. I really don't have the knowledge to comment, but I wonder if these scientists are not maybe pushing an agenda.

But I have visited Delhi and Beijing, where the air is so thick you almost need a knife and fork to breath it and no one sees the sun for weeks on end although there's not a cloud in the sky. My daughter lived in Xian, China for 18 months and during the winter, when the coal-fired heating system was switched on, the pollution levels were sometimes 500 times (yes, really!) the W.H.O. safety levels.

So I also wonder if the world can keep chucking all this muck into the atmosphere and expect to get away with it indefinitely.

Interesting to me was that remember a In Search of in 1970's, that had an "expert" on climate change stating that we were in for a global ice Age, with dead winter all way down to georgia, but in the 90's. same guy heading up climate change at UN, and was stressing Gobal warming and ice caps melting down, so which is it?
