From the Association of US Army

    "
    Big Accomplishment

Air Force Gen. Tod Wolters, the U.S. European Command commander, praised how quickly the U.S. Army moved troops to the region after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “We were able to deploy the entirety of an armored brigade combat team from Georgia to Germany in just one week,” he said. “That level of speed and agility is unmatched.”

What to Watch: This “amazing accomplishment” was possible because the Army has been practicing fast deployments to Europe and because of its planning for and care of pre-positioned stocks, said Wolters, who described it as a “pivotal moment” for Europe."

What separates the U.S. military from its peers is their logistical ability for force projection. Something we have recently found the Russians to be woefully poor at. Logistics are the key for any sustained combat operation.

I remember that back in the 70's in EUCOM we had a class on the Russians - their big problem was leadership or actually the lack of leadership. The specific example they gave us was that if the TC of a tank was killed the Privates would not know what to do as they only taught their specific job,

Imagine how fast we could deploy an Armored Division with its support vehicles if we had about 100 more C-17's !
