Gay rights group lauds Cracker Barrel move.

See article at: Cracker Barrel News Sorry, but I believe that the article has been removed from the Atlanta Journal & Constitution's website, so don't try the link.

I'll still not be eating at the big "CB" anymore.

Your link doesn't work, it's outdated. The last I heard the gays were protesting Cracker Barrel's stance against homosexuality. Do you have the article or a link to one that actually works?

Sorry about the link. The article was in the AJC's Business section on their website. However, since I read the article and posted the first post it looks as if the AJC removed the article from their website. I did a search of their articles using "Cracker Barrel" and did not turn up the article. Basically, the article stated that Cracker Barrel had instituted a "no discrimination based on 'sexual orientation' policy".

Oh, ok. Thanks for the explanation.
What do find wrong with the policy of allowing gays to work at jobs?

And some people wonder why the stock market has gone to hell. God is no respecter of persons, not even corporate bigwigs or individual stockholders that don't discourage sin. At least one on your list is there in error. State Farm had proposed offering same sex benefits, but so many customers voiced their opposition, they changed their minds. Good for them! Still, in all likelihood they didn't make that decision based on a moral call. It's all about the dollar.

State Farm in Bloomington, Illinois. Check it out.
Not all people are listed who hold these policies, but check out the application at your workplace. I bet 90% of you will find a clause against sexual discrimination. What do you think that is? Others go further, a number of the ones at the top of my list are the ones that also include gender identification discrimination.

FINALLY! I've really missed going to Cracker Barrel. It used to be a favorite on long road trips, but their discriminatory hiring policy forced me to look elsewhere. Thanks very much for the news.

Tell me about it, Joshua! I lived in NC for four years, and you couldn't go three miles without passing a Cracker Barrel, seemed like. I might have to go seek one out and have a visit.

Oh heaven forbid that the person who busses our table or serves the food might be gay. That would certainly affect the level of service, wouldn't it.

Just one question. How you know the person who's taking your order right now isn't gay?

What if the salons refused to hire people who were gay? Who would cut our hair then?

Don't reccollect this characteristic ever being on a job application, so unless somebody just feels the "burning desire" to say "Hey!! I'm Gay!", how's the boss to know?

Which brings up the whole problem with this garbage: If you want to live a perverted lifestyle, you have that option. I'm not gonna bother you AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TRY TO MAKE ME ACCEPT YOUR CHOICES AS LEGITIMATE! I can treat you as a fellow human, even if I know your quirks, as long as you aren't "IN MY FACE" to put my stamp of approval on your choice!!

In simple terms, stop trying to force the acceptance of your lifestyle on others, and then getting mad because of the opposition!

However, keep one thought in mind; YOU ARE FREE TO CHOOSE, BUT YOU ARE NOT FREE TO CHOOSE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR CHOICE!

I have to disagree with that JWP. It means I would have to shut up and quit telling them they're wrong.
I'm not about to do that. [IMG] But as long as I do, they have the right to tell me I'm wrong.
Although both sides need to keep it out of the workplace for the most part either way.

But what does "in your face" mean?

Good question. I've had people e-mailing me vile threats and/or accusing me of spreading hate just with the posting of a bible verse and a simple statement saying that I believe homosexuality goes against the bible, then I've had people hold a logical conversation and not feel as if I was in their face about it when I've been much harsher.
So I guess it's all a matter of how sensitive a person is and how they perceive you.
BTW, if I know I'm in sin all someone has to do is look at me cross-eyed and I feel like they just made a vicious attack!

The best service I ever had was from a homo guy at a planet hollywood. How did I know? because he said so. I left him a 5.00 tip and one of my church business cards. I know the 5.00 might not seem much but I am very tight and that has been my biggest tip to date. The guy did his job and his sexual orientation was not relevant to his job. I still applaud businesses who don't give in to the gay movement. May their tribe increase.

What does it mean to "give in" to the gay movement?

Did you assume that the waiter was engaging in sex with men? If so, do you also assume that unmarried heterosexuals are having sex as well?

Call me a liberal (which I'm not), but I don't think it's appropriate for a secular company to engage in hiring practices that discriminate on the basis of one's sexual activity. Otherwise, what's next? Will Sears be allowed to hire only married people? Or will I be barred from jobs because I'm divorced? What if I'm pro-choice and they want to hire only pro-life people, or people who are against the death penalty?

On the other hand, Disney requires their female cast members to wear dresses.

There are many of us who don't care what you do just as long as you don't scare the horses, even if it is what we consider to be what the Bible calls a sin and an abomination. We do care if you are trying to put your "lifestyle" on the par with commonly held view of the male and female relationship of marriage. We simply do not consider it an alternative lifestyle. Neither do we consider such a lifestyle something that should be taught as normal to our children in the public schools.
How a company deals with its employees is pretty much that company's business. (though the Kodak case does give one reason to pause.)

We are not looking for a fight nor are we looking to harm any individual. We simply look at this one of many anti-Biblical lifestyles as a deathstyle.

I just hope someone with AIDS doesn't sneeze on my entre or happen to cut their finger & bleed when chopping up the salad lettuce. Another good reason to ask God's blessing on the food, especially when dining out, IMHO.

Best hair stylings I ever had in my life were from a homo hairdresser.
