You can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Edmonton defeated Anaheim all four times in the regular season, although both teams vastly improved toward the end of the season.

    A bit of trivia:
The last time Edmontion got this far in the playoffs was when Edmonton's coach, Craig Mctavish, was playing for Edmonton for the Stanley Cup, and Ryan Smith was still in High School.

Yesterday I read in the local paper: "I hate it that I'm the only one in the house that hates hockey." Sometimes I feel like that, too.

Oh, well, if you can't beat 'em, might as well join 'em.

Only one more win left....well, for the Western Conference title anyway.

(By the way, the above quote came from the Venting column; makes my day every Tuesday and Thursday; would on Saturday too but I don't work that day.)

We never get too hasty. We might spill our cup of Tim Horton's. Sabres lead 2-1.....

The Oilers have defeated the Ducks in five, claim the Clarence Cambell trophy for the Western Conference, and move on to challenge the winner of the eastern conference for the coveted Stanley Cup.
Can they do it? No reason why not.

The Carolina Hurricanes have defeated Buffalo, and now will have the opportunity of going down to defeat at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers as they vie for the Stanley Cup. The first game starts Monday.

Great, that is the matchup I was looking for...Carolina and Edmonton. Are these games going to be on a major network?

Here is what I could find out:

Games 1-2 on OLN, CBC, RDS, NHL Radio
Games 3-7 on NBC, CBC, RDS, NHL Radio

But depending upon the area you live in, you may have some other channels that carry it.

    Lose game and goalie

    Can Oilers overcome that?

Markannen was outstanding in the third game, and now the series is 2 to 1. They were down 2 to 0 with the Sharks. I sense a comeback here as well.

No, but I always have hope.
The Hurricanes were dominated by the Oilers in a 4 to 0 shutout. Now the series is tied at 3-3 with the seventh and deciding game for Lord Stanley's Cup on Monday evening. Even though it is being played in Raleigh N.C., I still believe Edmontion will take it.

Is the game on OLN tonight too?

How sad is that there is a Game 7 for the Stanley Cup and most of America will miss it?

    Congrats to Carolina !

Great run by the Oilers being an 8 seed. Pretty hard to win the cup after losing your best goalie.

First, that was a terrific game last night. To me, the biggest single change that the NHL made to the game was the icing call. Before the strike, there were so many icing calls that it really chopped the game up. Last night, the teams went for 3, 4, even 5 minutes without a break in the action. That's good hockey. Was last night's game the exception to the rule, or was that kind of action the norm this season and playoffs?

This morning, Barry Melrose said that the hockey this season is better than it's been for the last 20 years. Hockey fans, do you agree?

If that's true, and if the kind of play we saw last night has become the norm, I think we just might see a resurgence in hockey over the next few seasons.

I cannot stpeak for the regular season. But the games I watched in the playoffs were all good games similiar to last night.

I hope it continues, I would like to see hockey pick back up. I just wish the Blackhawks would get a clue.
