I don't see the difference in praying for a pet inside a church building versus praying for it outside of that setting.
Do you people go to the bathroom inside your church building? You know there is no biblical precedence for that.

Why do we gather?
I would suggest we gather for the glory of God. People spend all week in the world, dealing with job stress, home stress, traffic stress and, well, life. When we come together we are there to sing praises to God and come to better know Him. We need this refilling. This can and should be a time of joy, however, it is also a time of reverence.
Having a service to pray for Fifi and Fido just does not fit.

Really? How is that a valid comparison?
And thus the disagreement begins.
OK - That is just disgusting. Really?? :tear:
I was trying to make a point, and I wasn't trying to be disgusting.
The ridiculousness of the comparison invalidates any point you were trying to make.
I pray for deer.
So, YEP, I do a mess of praying for an animal.
- Eleven months out of the year I pray, "Lord don't let me hit one with the car."
- Mid-November through mid-December it's more like, "Lord, let my aim be true."
- Then there's the Choctaw prayer that is said after the 7mm-08 travels at just under 3000 feet per second and finds the mark. It goes something like, "Brother Deer. I meant you no harm but there is hunger in the lodge."
- There's suppertime. We say grace over the Sloppy Does or venison roast thanking the Good Lord for the bounty.
Off Topic: If anyone sees Aaron tell him it's time for the hunting for the thrill versus food thread.
