No Republicans

Yes, I agree. It is about time. I am glad someone is finally standing up to the nonsense here. It is unfortunate that Republicans were so late to the table on this, but at least they finally did it. Let's hope it holds out.
This will be the cause of what could be a Republican landslide in Nov 2010. The Republicans, politically, should let this go through while opposing it, because the public is against it. They can then run on it.
Of course, they should let it go anyway because it is just a bad idea. This is coming from the same group who thinks cash for clunkers is working. It "worked" so well that it is not costing us more money. And where it this money coming from? And what will these people do who are buying cars they can't afford? Not to mention the fact that it is killing the used car market and hurting the poor people who need the old cars to get back and forth to work and take their family to the doctors and now won't be able to buy them. Utter failure.
This "no Republican" thing is more indication of Obama's problems. He just doesn't have the tools upstairs to run the country. He has not surrounded himself with good people to make up for his own lack. He does not have the experience for this job. Of course, people said this for months and months, but no one listened, and no we have the results. Increasing government spending when we are already bankrupt, increasing government intrusion, decreasing bipartisanship (which was already very low), and general incompetence at all levels. It shows he is a liar, and now people will die because of it. The lack of health care, the confusion, the bureaucracy, will make it worse, not better. He said he would do this bipartisanly, and he hasn't.
Think about it. Obama is following George W. Bush. The bar was set so low for success. And Obama has already missed it. He hasn't even risen far enough to bump his head on the low bar of success. It is hard to imagine any other candidate in the primary except Kucinich would who have done this poorly.

Yeah...who cares if half the country doesn't want it. Obama has the ball and he's going to play the game whether or not anyone else is. Why not let the mean old GOP opt out and not partake of the health coverage and not pay taxes for it? Oh yeah, because without stealing money from us they couldn't afford to pay for this since most of the people that need free health care on on Obama's side of the aisle.
I don't think it will be a landslide, and I don't think it will be in 2010. I think it will be gradual. My prediction is that you will see an increase in Reps replacing Dems in 2010, and see even more in 2012, enough to make the Reps a solid majority in Congress by the time the next POTUS term starts.
I would agree, except for the current tack. They are infuriating the electorate right now with their total disregard. They may recover, but if they don't follow the advice of Noonan in her WSJ article today, it will be iffy at best.
I think they are setting themselves up for a 1994 again.

Perhaps, Robert Snow, you can tell us where the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals and hospital beds are going to come from to treat the 45 million (Obama's figures) people who will now have "universal healthcare" when they are dumped into our health system.
And what do you expect the average wait time will be to get in for a routine doctor visit? Or what about my grandkids running a fever - what will the wait time for them be to get in to see their pediatrician?
And will there be enough blood pressure medication at Walgreens for me to get my monthly refills or will there be a shortage so I run out and then have a stroke that I will have to stand in line to be treated for? I'd like answers please.

It seems as if you're saying this shouldn't be done because if all "those" people who don't have health care now can life prolonging health care your grandchildren might be inconvenienced? If that correct. Sounds familiar. Republicans and the "Christian Right" don't care about "those other people." let them die but don't make it inconvenient for my grandchild to see a doctor about a cold.

When has bipartisanship ever been a real concern of Democrats? Oh!—it was when they were in the minority. They didn't give in one inch to for the sake of bipartisanship. Conservatives foolishly made all the concessions to placate them, and this is their reward.

There will be no bill unless the dems/Marxists get at least one RINO vote so that when the manure hits the fan the father of lies can claim the bill was bipartisan.
Since you are the one who presented the OP, it is customary form for you to defend your premise/position.
I assume you have the facts or you wouldn't be blindly applauding a plan that you have no facts about...or would you?
There is no hyperbole here. These are legitimate questions. Perhaps you would do well to ask honest questions of those leaders who want to send your fellow Americans on a runaway debt train, but the MAJOR question which frames all of my questions is....where does this runaway train end up?
Answers from your side should be forthcoming if you are proud of this plan.

Since there is no one bill finalized, it is difficult to comment on what it will say. When the bill is finalized, then your questions may have merit. Until then it is hyperbole.

BTW, you're the one applauding the fact that the democrats are going to push through a bill when you admit you don't even know what the bill is. Don't you even care what they are going to push through? Obviously not or you wouldn't be applauding it.
