Jerry Falwell, Jr. Calls Russell Moore Out, Says He's Part of the 'SBC Deep State'

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. took to Twitter late Monday night to call Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission president Russell Moore to the carpet.

Falwell took to Twitter Monday night to respond to a tweet where two-time Southern Baptist Convention president, Pastor Jerry Vines endorsed the new Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary president, Dr. Adam Greenway.

In Falwell’s response to Vines, he not only backed the former SBC president’s endorsement of Greenway, but he also took the opportunity to call Moore out.

The LU president wrote, “My good friend @jerryvines just told me Dr. Adam Greenway is a wonderful man and not part of the @drmoore SBC deep state regime trying to subvert the will of the church members! So glad to hear this news! @toddstarnes”

Thanks!

It is about time that someone stood up to Moore. It is also time to toss Greear and time to tell Mohler to tone it down or resign. I have had enough of this marxism--how about you?

I am not so sure Greenway isn't a Mohler puppet.

I am not SBC but I am not on a fan of Jerry Falwell, JR. Did he learn nothing from his father of the danger of mixing Christianity and politics?

I don't know anything about him. That's why I am not so sure about him. Some of his recent hires would suggest he is Calvinistic. I simply don't know.
Identified as such in this interview from 2014:

transcript:
But at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, the dean of the Billy Graham School of Missions, a Calvinist...

Adam Greenway, Dean of Southern Seminary's Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism & Ministry

Falwell seems to like him because he trusts The judgment of Vines. I hope Vines is right.

I don't, not that it matters, I said long before they started their search they would likely bring in a calvie. After what they did to Patterson wouldn't go to that school for anything. Neither will I recommend it, in fact I will discourage it.

What bothers me is that no action was taken, dealing with Patterson's firing, at the past SBC convention.
I know it pains you to admit it, but the SBC is going down the tubes.

Yes there was, they put a committee together to investigate the behavior of the executive committee at SW. The results are pre-determined but they are faking it pretty good.

As I said, nothing was done. A reversal of his firing should have been demanded. I despise committees.

Russell Moore is a flaming liberal and quite mean.

I do not know much about Moore so I cannot comment. I did follow how Falwell, Jr. behaved while campaigning for Trump. The things he said about other Christians were appalling. What was even worse were the Christians on Falwell, Jr.'s side who championed Trump first and Christ second. Falwell Sr. thought the Moral Majority was going to usher in a golden age of Christian values that would sweep the nation, and the way to accomplish that was to ride the Reagan Revolution to victory. The GOP looked at the Moral Majority as a bunch of useful idiots and milked them dry until they were no longer needed. This is why I say Falwell, Jr. has learned nothing from his father. He has traded his birthright for a bowl of political stew.

The bolded part is as bad as what you are accusing Falwell of.

Trump forwarding a Christian agenda vs the Demonic Dems. Not a hard choice.

Nothing true about this post and is quite absurd.
