    As we have some new participants on the boards, it seems wise to review some requests.

    1. First, a new one. All participants to the creation/evolution forum must now agree in an email to abide by the rules of the Baptist Board, which may be found here: http://www.baptistboard.com/postingrules.html

    Participants to this forum do not need to be registered members of Baptist Board, but they do need to agree to abide by the rules of the board. The easiest way to notify us of your agreement is in your next email. New participants will be asked to agree before they are posted. If you are a registered member of Baptist Board, you have already agreed to this and do not need to do it again.

    2. There has been an occasional problem with posts that are a series of quotes and responses to earlier posts. This is fine if the post is short. But often this series of quotes and responses can end up pages long. This requires a lot of editing time on our part to make sure all formatting is correct. When possible, condense replies into normal paragraphs with occasional quotes from previous posts. We understand this is not always possible but appreciate efforts in this direction.

    3. Watch when you cut and paste for the following: that apostrophes and quote marks have not been changed into small squares. If they have, please correct them. That lines are not shortened causing
    a new
    post to look like
    this.
    Correcting the line spacing is appreciated.

    4. Put the title of the thread you wish to post to in the title of your email.

    5. Make sure the name you are posting under appears at the top or bottom of your email.

    6. Quotes from previous posts or outside sources must be italicized or put in quoted sections and referenced. Bold lettering is to be used for Bible quotes and short emphasized words or phrases. UBB code is enabled here, which means directions for formatting are placed in square brackets. Simple commands are
    b = bold
    /b = stop bold
    i = italics
    /i = stop italics
    quote = insert quoted section
    /quote = stop quoted section

    Do NOT leave spaces between the square brackets and the commands.

    7. It is a help if you put your name in capital letters at the top of your email enclosed by the bold and stop bold commmands.

    8. The easiest way to submit a post is usually by a Word attachment to the email. This also makes editing easier. This is not required, only suggested.

    9. Stay on topic and remember we are discussing ideas, not people. Do not be surprised if any material in your posts talking about the ignorance of someone else or insulting them is edited out. We will also edit out personal messages and challenges.

    10. URL's are to be used as support for posted responses and do not take the place of them. This board is not for wars between webpages.

    11. If you use letters representing full words, please explain them before you use them. For instance ID is intelligent design. The regular readers here may know that, but visitors, especially from other countries, may not. Please make sure your material is as clear as possible for a first-time reader.

    12. The administrators are not perfect and make mistakes. Emails requesting corrections in a post or an edit are welcomed when they are polite and respectful. We are doing our best to help all sides to this debate present their cases clearly without fear of ridicule. Are we biased? Yes, we are. This is a Christian board and we take the Bible seriously as the Word of God. Respect for that point of view is part of Baptist Board and the editing process on this forum. Atheists and those of other religions are invited to post here as long as they respect our faith. All points of view are invited, but not all attitudes are.

    Thank you for your time in reading this and for your cooperation in making this one of the better forums on the net now discussing these 'hot' topics.
